I'm just curious why so many people care why you have a panty line -- especially if you're working out? Seriously, I'm pretty proud of the fact of the fact that I wear underwear. Just my 2 cents.

A lot of great tips here! I love your videos and your yoga. I also don't necessarily want to display my sweat to everyone....but i have given this some thought, and in a way, we should be proud of that sweat. Ok, so I don't "wear my sweat" entirely confidently either...but I do find it a bit sad that we feel like we should have to hide it just because we sweat in "that area". During a good work-out, it's just absolutely natural with a bit of sweat. I'm someone who also runs a lot, and there I definitely need a breathable material for my own comfort! And yes, dark colors are absolutely better in terms of not showing the sweat, but at the end of the day, if I end up showing off a little sweat in my groin after working my butt off. So what? Sweat is not a crime....I'll rock that sweat yogi style. People are probably too concerned with their own sweat to even notice mine anyway. Peace & Namaste ;-)

Great discussion topic! I only practice at home, but I like to use a thin panty liner when I practice instead of going totally commando. It works quite well, and extends the wear-ability of my leggings and yoga pants a bit. No problems with it sticking or moving around - and much more comfortable than wearing undies underneath. Thanks for sharing your tips with us Brett! Peace. :)

Pantyliners! I have to have organic cotton panty liners on when I teach or take a class! It helps me feel more confident and more sanitary in that I can just toss it after class. Of course washing leggings and undergarments after every class for me is another must! I tend to be a more "warm/hot bodied" person and sweat easily no matter the class so washing keeps everything fresh! I machine wash and hang dry my special or more delicate leggings and garments.
My fav panty liners right now are the veeda brand liners. Chemical free and not bulky! Great for everyday use.
    😉

I cycle and I would often wear my favorite cycling capris to yoga which helped me in two ways: 1. you don't wear underwear with cycling pants because it has an anti-bacterial padding and 2. it gave me the padding that I needed with my longer than normal coccyx/tailbone when I needed it, like boat pose. My favorite brand is Sheebest.
With regard to thongs, I never wore them until a little over a year ago. I just got fed with adjusted my panties, moving out of place, etc. I found thongs that were really comfortable and I've been very happy. My favorites are the lacy types like the ones mentioned in the video. They feel really feminine. I switched over the thongs all together, and I was a very happy camper when I was travelling for a couple of weeks in Asia last year, my underwear hardly took up any room in the suitcase!

    1. Things will carry the bacteria from your behind up and down as they move. Especially in a fitness class! 2. Wear cotton! 3. Seriously if you're in a class where people are checking you out that is probably not the best yoga space to be at. Practice in what is healthy for your body and comfortable. Focus on the practice and not what other people are thinking of or looking at you.

If you don't want to wear a thong, try Puma's Lazer-Cut Underwear. They're pretty awesome, just as panties in general, but I wear them under my yoga pants without worrying about them bunching or showing.

VS No Show panties!! I have so many! Very sheer material, come in thong and regular hipsters. By far my fave to wear under yoga pants/leggings! There are a ton of cute patterns on the pink section of vs, and they are by far the comfiest in my opinion. :)

I'd like to know as well. I feel that certain synthetic fabrics would be bad for you if you don't wear underwear creating more chances of infections. I stick with cotton underwear only (boring but healthier) and feel better having that barrier between me and the synthetic yoga pants.

I would say wearing seamless cotton underwear would be the healthiest option to prevent infections. Yoga pants are made of synthetic materials which I'd be reluctant to have right up against me by wearing no underwear.

I come from a dance background, and tights were sort of like our undies, and then you'd wear your leotard over there. On a different note, you may want to consider hiring a social media person to assist you with deleting some of the creepy comments I've seen on a number of your videos like this one. I can imagine it's too much for you to do this and everything else you have going on.

I've never understood the aversion to seeing the "panty line". Why would I care that it is visually obvious that I'm wearing underwear? So i should be wearing underwear but no one should be able to look and see to know that I am? What a world we live in 😂

As a guy, usually I'll wear tighter boxers they allow more airflow during yoga. I did recently order a pair of seamless boxers from girlsinyogapants.com - they fit comfortably. They also allow me to stretch and bend the way that I need to. I would never "go commando" like many would suggest, it's not appropriate for class.

@@alexp8346 I know they're silly expensive and I don't necessarily love the image around the brand, but they're one of the few high-quality lines that carry good men's clothing. Why not wear hotpants? It's so weird that girls would take a yoga class for their wellbeing, and then be so conscious about panty lines that they wear nothing or a g-string, which is unhygienic/uncomfortable. In a yoga class you are continuously told to focus on yourself, your breath, your own practice. Why then do you care about panty lines? How can the teacher endorse it, recommending those VS underwear. Why don't you tell your students to be comfortable, Brett? American women are truly repressed when even their yoga teacher tells them they have to "look good" in yoga class. So sad!

Thongs are gross and unhealthy. You're supposed to just wear normal, not too tight panties under your yoga pants or leggings. If you're getting pantie lines, something is the wrong size, either your panties or your leggings are *too tight. *
And going commando is also unsanitary because the whole reason we wear undies is to *keep our pants clean. *
I don't get why this is even a question. Get over the idea of pantie lines, no one actually cares, and just make sure your buying clothes that aren't too tight and restrictive on your body. You'll be more comfortable, and look just fine.
Hell, I usually do yoga in baggy men's sweatpants and boxers! Doesn't get more comfy than that!
