      @MarkJLarsonOutdoors Thanks Mark. Mark another good Hayset is to shape your hay like a hour glass. Make your focus the skinny part of the hour glass. Trap both sides of skinny part. If there hitting bait out there, bait would be my choice. I plan on doing a example of this set in a week or so.

    Im going to try this set. I finally got some traps out ,14, and had 6 dug out over 3 nights. Stil. Trying to figure this out

    • @Keystonetrapper
      @Keystonetrapper  5 дней назад +1

      @ctfan1486 Make sure the dirt around your trap is very firm. If coons feel anything loose they will dig. If it's K9 digging your traps up it's usually a grey fox, again he felt loose soil. Or your traps are contaminated. That's alot of traps dug up.

    • @ctfan1486
      @ctfan1486 5 дней назад

      Being new to this they probably are not set tight enough. What do you mean by contaminated? They are died but not waxed.

    Great job thanks for going over the hay set. I have a question about the hay set I know you put a trap on each corner but are they on the front corner or opposing corners in other words one on front corner and one on back corner or both on same side? Thank you!

    • @Keystonetrapper
      @Keystonetrapper  6 дней назад

      @brianmuska6471 Brian, they would be on opposing corners. That's how I try to make them. Appreciate you watching brother!

      @brianmuska6471 This time of the year, there really starting to ramp up on breeding season. Think gland, urine and scat when making some sets.

    This goes against all I have ever been taught about making sure your trap is better secure and does not move. I need to try this out

    • @Keystonetrapper
      @Keystonetrapper  5 дней назад

      @justinchappell7397 The hardest thing I have ever done. Trust me on this, I have not dug any hole and just layed trap flat on the ground and caught 4 fox and 2 coyotes 3 winters ago. Just flat on the ground and covered in hay. That was a baited hayset shaped in a V with 2 traps in the V. I know that method works and I like you still at least feel the need to dig a hole, even though that really isn't necessary. Give it a try, if you have fox in your area they seem to hit it more than anything. Tight chains brother! Let me know how you make out.

    Nice set. Your traps 6 feet or so apart? I will be trying that tomorrow. Also what is your bait bag in the video? Thanks

    • @Keystonetrapper
      @Keystonetrapper  5 дней назад

      @brentrowan2794 You can make your loaf of hay as long as you would like. The longer you made it the less likely of it getting wrapped up in the second trap.
      My bait bag is a tool bag that I bought at lowes. I really appreciate you watching and I hope you have success with it!
