  • President Harry Truman became president upon the Death of Franklin Roosevelt. He presided over the end of WW2 deciding to unleash 2 atomic bombs on Japan thus ending the final theater of the War. Controversy persists until this day if his decision was correct.
    Lyrics:
I was born on the banks of the mighty old Missouri,
A scallywag in boots with a penchant for the hurry.
Mama always knew I'd be a wild roaming lad,
Chasing dust and dreams with just the clothes I had.
I’d steal a kiss from Bess under the starlit sky,
Run like hell through cornfields, no clue the reason why.
Daddy said, "Son, you’ll grow up way too fast,"
But I’m a Missouri scallywag, living life with a blast.
Oh, Missouri scallywag, running wild and free,
Chasing down the rivers and the rustle in the trees.
A heart full of trouble and a spirit so bold,
I'm a scallywag of Missouri, a story to be told.
The sheriff knows my name, but he’s given up the chase,
Can't round up this wild heart, can’t find a single trace.
The open road's my home, and adventure’s what I crave,
A born scallywag, from cradle to the grave.
My guitar's my companion, and the moonlight’s my guide,
With every note I play, I leave worries far behind.
In the honky-tonks of Missouri, they all know my tune,
A scallywag’s serenade beneath the harvest moon.
So here's to life unbridled, and small-town summer nights,
To raising Cain and whiskey, and barroom neon lights.
No shackles on my spirit, no anchor in my life,
A Missouri scallywag, cutting troubles with a knife.
