The Monarch™ Airway Clearance System

Indications for Use
The Monarch Airway Clearance System is intended to provide Airway Clearance Therapy and promote bronchial drainage where external manipulation of the thorax is the physician’s choice of treatment. It is indicated for patients having difficulty with secretion clearance, or the presence of atelectasis caused by mucus plugging. The Monarch Airway Clearance System is intended to be used in the Home Care environment by patients,15 years and older.
Contraindications
Monarch Airway Clearance System, Model 1000 is contraindicated and should not be used if these conditions are present:
Patients who have a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) due to the presence of a magnetic field, when the system is on or off.
Head and/or neck injury that has not yet been stabilized.
Active hemorrhage with hemodynamic instability.
Relative Contraindications
The Monarch Airway Clearance System also has a number of conditions that are considered relative contraindications. These are conditions which, if present, the device would not generally be recommended and a healthcare team should be consulted to determine if the product should be used on a case-by-case basis.

Fun fact: dogs aren't color blind based on that they only see black and white. Dogs can see some colors, but the colors blur together like dogs can't tell the difference from blue and green, so if you put a blue ball in the green grass, there is a chance they won't be able to find it.
+Spottedtime, that's probably why so many of them love those neon yellow tennis balls! LOL
I'm always surprised when my dog sees her blue balls on grass at night, and that she loves pink. I guess she's seeing it against the background rather than the grass or maybe night lighting makes it clearer??

I totally get being a medical nerd! My mom works for a nonprofit that participates in lots of medical research, and she tells me about the cool stuff they're working on! When she can of course, lots of their projects are considered confidential.

I have just had to get one of these original Hill Rom airway clearance machines due to having pneumonia and asthma. I was also diagnosed with Bilateral Pulmonary Embolism. It takes some getting used to, but it will help save my life. I am so happy that Mary got a portable machines, she deserves all of the freedom she can possibly get. Love to you guys from Ohio as always.
I am literally crying right now.... I'm 100% jealous.... I'm mentioning this machine to my cf clinic Thursday .... I saw the ad for it last week and it would be amazing with moving with the military so much and going to see my family all the time and hiking and just life....

Or make removable stickers. In case it does malfunction and they have to send it back, it's best for it to not have something permanent on it.
Oh that's true. I looked at the website and it looks like the outside cover is removable, so you can buy different colors and designs for it.

Hey Mary, Peter, and Ollie boy! I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your content! I do not have CF, but I am a brittle asthmatic and can sometimes share the struggles you go through! I do mists and inhalers in the morning and night and always watch your videos while I'm doing them! I am on meds that make my body very weak and have some issues with my body not wanting to take certain meds☹️ I have a chronic productive cough and have to wear a mask sometimes and mists ever night to help get it in control with combination meds. People always look and glare as I cough in public and has made me afraid to go out, but your videos have helped me realize, DO WHAT YOU THINK YOU CANT DO!♥️ I plan to order from your shop very soon! I love this video! It's amazing how much technology has changed. I had one of the first therapy vest prototypes in the early 90's. It was huge, very heavy, and extremely temperamental! Congrats! It is fabulous when technology can make our lives easier!

Mary, I've been coughing a lot lately (due to an allergy) and still I don't really know how life must be like for you but I can kind of grasp what you have to deal with every day. So I have a question. How much vest is too much vest? Like how long can you do it for? Do you think new medical stuff helps with compliance?
Hi I have CF! I don't think there is such a thing as "too much" for your lungs, but doing it too much would probably make your sore and realistically it's hard to add in more than what we already do. The portability of this new one will help some with compliance I think.

Hope your clinic visit went good today. I spent the day downtown Seattle to see my neurologist. Got a bunch of shots (sounds worse than it was hehe) and had to hurry up and wait to do it. Ah, life. So I took pictures along the way. To give a special person in my life the idea of what a day looks like for me. I hope it helps us be closer. You guys inspire me to open up socially. Thank you for that. Can't wait to see what new adventures you take your vest on! Hugs

I'm super happy for you! I get what you mean about getting new things, I just got a new leg brace for sleeping!!!!! Now I can sleep without cramping with my nerve damage!!!
I have learned over the years in school that protein/fats + complex carbs are good to have together after treating a low blood sugar (or to start off the day if you glucose is fine). Maybe you can put peanut butter (protein/fat - takes a very long time to digest compared to simple carbs) on a slice of whole wheat bread (the complex carb - takes longer to digest and will sustain your blood glucose over time) with sliced bananas (simple carb - fast acting) on top? Or try a bowl of oatmeal (complex carb) with blueberries (simpler carb) and peanut butter or sliced almonds (fat/protein)? Rounding out your meal as much as possible should help, although I wouldn't be surprised if all of the absorption issues/glycemic control issues of CF made that a little less effective!

So quite I get it when you say your excited some people get excited over new shoes ECT. But yes when it's something medical that makes life easier it's like getting those new shoes!
