Hello everyone!
I have a bunch of videos that I shot a while ago but never had the chance to upload. So, this is one of those videos filmed about a year ago. Enjoying the beautiful O'ahu one more time and just being a tourist for a week. This is possibly the least amount of footage I filmed during a vacation. I didn't even fill a 128gb memory card. This time, I wanted to be the fly on the wall. Didn't shoot planned scenes. Had my camera with one lens in my beach tote bag. Took it out only if I felt like it was time. Didn't shoot more than 10 mins at a time. Didn't even had a full size tripod. Only a table tripod. No mic, no gimbal. I was so happy and in the moment. Didn't film any restaurant scenes, food trucks or other times that we were enjoying our vacation. My camera was inside the beach bag 90% of the time. I can't believe I still have enough scenes to make a RUclips video.
Ok, here I say it! This is my favorite travel camera setup! Canon R6, RF 16mm 2.8 and RF 35mm 1.8.
I needed sth small and light. This combo provided all I needed. 16mm was used 90% of the time. I took 35mm out occasionally.
What a month of camera releases. I am watching all channels pumping videos one after another about why YOU SHOULD BUY this new camera or why you NEED this or that lens. Sony FX30 VS any camera released previously videos showing up on my feed. This is getting to a point that I am having a hard time finding any real videos to watch. Everyone is trying to sell you something and usually before even trying the gear.
One of those channels made couple videos recommending Sony FX30 to people BEFORE even touching the camera. What a crazy world that we live in.
I have always been in the opposite spectrum. I don't like to recommend gear to people since I don't know them. I don't know what they need or don't need. I can just say I like sth or I don't. It fits my needs or it doesn't. Nothing more nothing less. I find it super wrong to make people buy stuff intentionally by making youtube videos. So, I love this setup but this doesn't mean it is the best setup. Everyone has different expectations from a camera setup. I hope you find your favorite setup and start creating.

Dude love it! For the last couple of days I've been thinking of upgrading my camera (6D mk2). I rented the R6 a couple of times and it is a beast of a camera. The other day I saw that the R6 mk2 will be announced so I'll wait a bit longer. Anyways I think the R6 is the way to go. Thanks for this beautiful video.
Hey Thanks a lot Saso! I believe there are no more bad cameras made by any brand. I think you are doing the best thing to wait for Mk2 since it is being announced today. I am pretty sure it will be another great camera
Man whenever you pull out that diffuser (black pro mist?) for a few shots it just immediately catches my eye. I’ve been in love with diffusing filters since I first got one, I use it so much.
I actually didn't use any filters in this video. I forgot the filter pack at home :)

Wonderful video, thanks for sharing. I like the Eddie Cochran like song. I have different cameras. Sony A7iii, Fujifilm XS10, Lumix G90 and G80. But I like my cheap FZ300 for video. It's light weight, and I have a zoom up to 600mm. The Sony is my best quality camera with a 24mm F1.4 Keep up the good work.

Did you use kind of luts or you make your color every time?
Thank you. My color grading style changes pretty much every video but yes I sometimes use LUTs
Beautiful cinematography! Great use of an ultra wide angle lens. My favorite travel gear combo is also a 16mm f2.8 + 50mm f1.8 using R5. I sometime use 24-105 f4-7.1 for versatility. My question did you use any digital stabilization? Do you prefer clog over clog 3? I use HDR PQ and occasionally clog3! Thanks for sharing.

do not love those people who thinks canon is going the wrong way about the exclusive RF mount. these 16mm +35mm combination is so compact and good, and it isn't expensive at all.
So many great tools out there. I find it a waste of time to compare camera brands.
How did you manage to get almost no distortion with the 16mm? Did you fix something in post?

Thank u! Since Video mode does distortion correction internally this lens is not different than any other 16mm.

Hi, just found your videos, thank you for sharing these. Comparing this video with the one made with the R, 3 years ago , I like the colors on the R video better than this video with the R6. The R colors are reminding me of the 5d 2,3 and 4. The R has the same sensor as the 5d4 I believe.
Was there any difference with the color grading between these 2 videos?

Hey! Thanks a lot for watching. Pretty much every video I make has a different way of color grading depending on light, camera, feel, season, theme etc. Comparing wouldn't be fair.
What was your iso, aperture and shutter at ? Thanks for the help. I can't wait to make my canon r6 do this.
Hey Trinidad I hope you enjoy your camera. I would love to answer your question but to be honest pretty much all scenes have different settings. I change camera settings all the time depending on light.

Hi, just confused between r6 vs r6ii, i am into both photography and cinematography professionally, i shoot car videos, weddings and showreels. Can r6 handle enough? Or should i spend more and go for r6ii
Hello! It is a question only you can answer. I am happy with R6 but there might be some specs you need that I do not use.

I really don’t like to give buying recommendations to people. Cameras are super personal. I think you should check more resources and decide after. All recent cameras are pretty good. Hope you get the best one suitable for you
What filter would you recommend for the 16mm (shooting in the sun)? Thanks
Hi! For youtube videos I usually do not use ND filters. For this video I did not use an ND as well. But in general, Freewell magnetic NDs are pretty good. I also used K&F in the past. As long as there is no bad color cast or X pattern any ND should be fine to use for day light videos
Have you tested the Sony fx3? What camera brand do you enjoy the most?
I could only see FX3 once but had no chance to use it. It is a pretty cool camera.
To answer your question. The camera I enjoy the most changes depending on what I am shooting. For personal stuff I like using Canon's more since I am much more faster with it setting up shots

Hi, when I use a mist filter on a video I add in description. For this particular video I haven't used a mist filter. In the past I used 1/4 and 1/2 depending on the look I wanted to achieve

Tam olarak anlatmak istedigim de bu zaten. Kamera markalarinin cok bir onemi yok artik. Hepsi sahane. Onemli olan, kim hangi kamera ile daha rahat hissediyorsa onu kullansin. Malesef Fuji kameralar beni inanilmaz yavaslatiyorlar. Cok sevsem de kisitli zamanim oldugunda kesinlikle foto ve video icin ayni anda kullanamiyorum.
