I feel like I’m replying thank you to everyone a lot so let me just pin a comment haha, THANK YOU ALL! I am really happy this is leaving a good impression on my fellow editors and everyone just in general. It really means a lot and I can’t express my gratitude enough 😭🤍
I really needed to see this as I became obsessed with the art of editing by watching the splendid works of these incredibly talented vidders that are featured here, that ignited such a big passion which keeps growing and has inspired me to become an editor myself. Being part(a very tiny one in my case😁) of the editing community is so satisfying. Also, just hearing the voice of some of my most favourite editors was absolutely precious. So thank you for making this, it means a lot for whoever is interested in the art of editing!
I never actually knew there was a specific name/category for these types of videos. I always just assumed they were called tributes. This is really great!
did you just.... did you just make a whole ass documentary on vidding? did you make a video i can send to people who ask me what the hell it is im doing on my youtube channel? im honestly SHOCKED. i just finished watching the entire thing and it was so interesting and so well put together! super professional, really impressive! i love the little bits of film & tv you added in the pauses to illustrate the things you were talking about, they made me LAUGH. im so happy to have been a part of this project, i cant thank you enough for asking me, i've already sent this to my family to watch, it makes me soooo proud of our little community. thank you so much, this is incredible! you better get an A.
This documentary is a real eye opener for me. I don't think I can call myself a vidder yet as I'm still learning a lot and getting inspired by other creators every single day. This actually made me love the work I do a lot more than I used to . Thank you so much for taking ur time and creating this documentary 💜
OMG??? I was trying to do research to do exactly this but maybe a >5 minute video. But THIS??? This is everything I have been looking for and so well done??? Bless u for this video
This is amazing! Can't believe I'm just coming across it now!! Congratulations on putting everything together, it was interesting and dynamic all the way through. So honoured to have been a part of this masterpiece. Thank you!! 💘💘
the amount of work and love you put in this film just shines through! i can't even imagine how much time and patience it took for you, but the fact you did that is so incredible because not only it's important for vidders, nobody has ever done anything like this! thank you so much for making sure everyone in this film has time to be noticed (special thanks for the fact you included a part about my friendship with Lucy✨). i knew about different kinds of editors on RUclips but to actually listen to them talking about their process and approach to editing (both differences and similarities) was so wholesome. you did something very special, and i can't say what an honor it is for me to be part of this. not even mentioning how carefully you structured the film and how beautifully edited every moment! all movies and tv clips are so spot on ❤️ absolute masterpiece, i hope as many people as possibly will see it!
I..... I'm literally crying right now, you have no idea how inspiring this is, it's so professional, and takes vidding so seriously.....and i can't just stop crying lol... Thank you for this wonderful gift
The amount of time & love put into this video is insane, it feels so good to have something reflects this accurately the vidding experience! I hope this inspires many people to try this hobby or to make more documentaries about it!
i'm not a creator or vidder but i have to agree that in every interest i take part, the content of fan video edits or vidders are my most liked and the ones i interact with the most. Thanks to every one who creates and gives us new lenses to look at something we love 💕💜✨👏 P.S. i really want to try it up some time ☺️
i watched the whole thing just agreeing hahah i was like "YES!! THAT!!! MOOD!!! EXACTLY!!!",, vidding is such a selfless thing and i don't think i truly realized until you guys said it... editing a video takes a lot of time, but you also have to consider the time you spend looking for the footage, downloading, listening to songs to get you inspired, rendering, posting and finally waiting for someone to watch it and hopefully give you some feedback haha WHAT A JOURNEY: personally when i started my motto was "i want to create something that i would love to see from other people", as simple as creating your own stuff so i hope that anyone who wants to start editing stumbles upon this video because the way you described it and showcased it is just PERFECT,, like this is it- "THEE VIDDING DOCUMENTARY" and its such a nice hobby and a very cool community to see
Hi! I'm vidder! I'm from Hungary! I love doing this so much, because I love video editing, I love listening to music, I love watching movies and TV shows! And now four years later vidding is perfect for me! So, thank you for this video!
This is brilliant! It is so well made, so professional! It put such a huge smile on my face. Hearing all my 'colleagues' talking about the thing that we are all so passionate about is a totally unique experience. Im so thankful that you gave us a chance to be a part of something so incredibly beautiful! I couldn't tear myself from the screen.. It was so engaging. The visuals you put together like bradley throwing a book out of the window are just so good!!! It felt like i watched a netflix documentary! This is just great!
this is truly amazing!!! vidding is so personal to me and most ppl irl don't understand how much it actually means to me and think it's "just a hobby" and that i'm wasting my time🙈
Woah, what a project! It looks absolutely amazing and I can't even imagine how long this had to take to put all of that together! I personally loved, how everyone had unique and at the same time very similar view on editing as a whole, all the editors were taking words out of my mouth. Also it was so wholesome to relate to everybody and actually listen to different vidders' struggles/frustrations with editing itself. I loved every second of it, it's educational for non-vidders, lovely and nostalgic for vidders. I hope, this'll get much more recongnition. Thanks for letting me be part of this even though I'm a small editor - it's such an honor to be in one video with all those legends (some of them being my inspirations). Editor family will surely grow even bigger thanks to this masterpiece! Sending lots of love - thanks for making this happen!
Thank you for making it! It feels so great to have something like this explaining/describing/studying what we do. Vidding is still very marginal and most people in my life have no idea what it is I do and when I try to explain, they usually don't see the point. It feels amazing to have watched such a documentary, you've done an incredible job!
Never thought I’d seen a documentary on editing but here’s your video and I loved every second of it! It must have been so much work to put all of this together but I’m so glad you did it because it’s amazing!
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL I'm not a vidder but I LOVE watching edits!! I makes my heart flutter and makes me emotional or inspired. If you are a vidder and are reading this...thank you!
Okay I JUST finished watching this and the outcome is absolutely amazing! I honestly want to send this to my friends and family because it truly explains the motivations, effort and history behind edits and the vidding community as a whole. I thought it would feel long bc it’s 45 minutes BUT I was so engaged that it felt so short?? Ahah YOUR MIND!!! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this wonderful project
I have no words for how incredible this is... thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for creating this!! It truly hit so many important points on vidding. I loved what everyone had to say. Incredible job on editing it as well!! From start to finish this was perfect ❤️💯 ART!!
Oh my gosh this is incredible! I can’t imagine the amount of work that went into this but it’s so well done, I’m overjoyed to see the vidding community highlighted and showcased in such a beautiful way❤️Amazing work!!
Thank you so much for making this! I love vidding its a way of expressing my emotions. People might think its just putting clips behind eachother with music but its much more than that. Again thank you!! I will definetly come back to this video :)
WOW!! Just wow! I'm completely speechless. the work and effort you put in here is insane! it was so interesting to watch and i'm so happy that our community now has a whole documentary about vidding - such a good one as well! Wow. Really, it was so professional and well thought-out and I also really loved the design and flow you created here! YOU BETTER GOT A GOOD GRADE OR OTHERWISE I'LL RIOT no but really, thank you for this stunning work! ♥
I feel like the more modern 'edits' are a branch of vidding rather than vidding in the old school sense but that's just my opinion. Anyone can time a cut and with today's editing software, add flashy special effects but early vidding was about telling story with song. Don't get me wrong, the creators of these edits are talented at what they do but I don't think everything that's edited is vidding in the true sense of word. They also seem to rely heavily on special effects which is just one area of editing.
What an piece of art! This documentary was honestly so amazing, I don't even know how to express my thoughts properly other than saying it was an amazing experience. Truly one of the best things on youtube, so thanks to everyone who was a part of this and made it come to life.
This was so interesting! Thank you for making this, it was so nice seeing vidding taken seriously and studied from an academic perspective. It was also so cool that you interviewed editors I’ve been subscribed too for years. Amazing job with your project! :)
I just realized that most vidders started with TVD 😂 And i also started watching edits because of it, it was years ago. Listening to all of them (some i know some i don't) talking about their art and work and what led them to where they are now is really interesting. This was a great documentary, i think we all know all the work you put in this project and that no matter the struggles you still wanted to finish it and make it perfect, and guess what ? It is, i loved it. It's was captivating and informative, it is a real documentary. I know this was a school project at first but i'm sure it means a lot to the vidders community and to the peoples who enjoy watching their vids, i'm part of the second group and it means a lot to me because I always liked to watch videos made by you all after class and now work, everydays, weeks, no matter what my feelings are or how hard the day was i still enjoy watching vids. So thank you so much for this. 💜 And i hope you'll get a good grade and graduate soon 🤗
@@DZENITA. it's great to experiment and I can tell you that for a first documentary it's really good (take that frome someone who watch many documentary every week). I hope that it encourages you to keep going the way you want and that you'll be happy with your future job 💜
This was incredible!!! I seriously enjoyed every minute of it, it’s so cool to hear from other vidders about their experiences! It did NOT feel like 45 minutes at all, the whole thing was so perfectly edited!Thank you for taking the time to make this, it is amazing!!
This is brilliant and so *inspiring!* You clearly did a fantastic work building it and sharing really what "vidding" is! I loved how it all sums up what is it and yet still being so interesting and showcase all kind of things people like to do - this is huge. Thank you for this!
This turned out absolutely amazing, and interesting! You better get a good grade for all the work you put in this because girl..you do have a talent that should be appreciated even more!! Thank you, for including me in your project!
Back in 2002-2010, I spent countless hours making my own fanvids, as well as saving all the ones I really liked. Even though I have ALWAYS backed up my files (on burnt CD-Rs before external hard drive storage) multiple times over decades, but somehow, some way... They haven't been seen or heard from in 10 years. I tried going thru every CD, thumb drive, my 4 portable hard drives, etc. Nothing. Not one of my own fanvids, nor the dozens of folders of photo manips I'd made of my fav characters & ships, nor all the music fanvids I'd loved & watched hundreds of times, not a trace anywhere... I've even done my own deep dive searches for the few faves I remember & my old username or videos, to no avail. I have never been so depressed over lost files in my life... 💔😭
Wow. I think that’s what I want to say first. Haha, but this video was really something. Everyone said everything that I’ve always wanted to say. Being part of the editing community is definitely one of my favorite things to be part of. Everyone always inspires me in the community, and I think it’s captivating with what people say through the message that they send out when they edit. Thank you for this fantastic video. As someone who has been editing since 2015 and still not gaining a big follower count, it is shamefully something that is in the back of my head, but I always remind myself that when it comes to editing, I’m doing it because I am genuinely happy and I love to edit. So thank you (again) for this and for reminding me that being part of this community is something I will always cherish and love.
thank you so much for this comment aw, and don't worry! Looking at your videos, you are really advanced compared to where i was 5-6 years into editing, so just keep up the practice and soon enough you will find people who appreciate your work ♡
this is really amazing ... so many different opinions so much effort has been put into just awesome! i'm so damn glad to be a part of this thank you very much for giving me this opportunity and thanks for making a documentary on this topic 💜
Oh my god… the dedication and effort you put into this is absolutely amazing! I enjoyed every second of it and I sincerely thank you for making a video that finally represents our community as a whole. 💗💗 I’ll be on the look-out for more vids from you!! 🥰🥰💖
it came out so beautiful and so amazing!!!! i'm so grateful that i could be a part of something like this. it touched me a lot to see such a well put together and passionate documentary about vidding. love this so so much
this is very well detailed but i'm hearing bits of dreamcatcher's wonderland and i can't keep focusing on the documentary. great job, buddy. this is a pretty amazing documentary overall. i will probably edit this comment after i finish the whole thing :D edit: finished the whole thing. i'm happy that this documentary exists. you breaked down every aspect and side of the community that has been here for so long but wasn't really explored by the people themselves. this will atleast gave them the knowledge to know what's up. thank you :D
Thanks so much for this. I'm vidder since 12 and I never felt. I never felt like the work I did was understood. Seeing this I could see that all vidders receive the value we deserve. We work a lot. And your work was fantastic, I enjoyed it. I'm Spanish sorry for the English 😅. Anyway, thanks 💖.
Thank you so much for this. A lot of people smile at this hobby of mine and none of my friends know about it. But just by knowing that there are one or two fans out there who tell me that they keep returning to this or that vid of mine is kinda nice. However, I do it for myself and am no part of any forum/community. I am concerned about creative rights since RUclips has become more repressive and European policies tight.
[B] When you’re a vidder but didn’t even realise the difference between an editor and a vidder 🤣😅 Found this video while trying to find other vids for inspiration and This whole video was so interesting and fun and educational to watch.
Well done Queen !! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you so much for creating this masterpiece and also for letting me be a part of it ❤️✨ (still sorry for my low budget videos 😂) I enjoyed every second ❤️ love you, forever & always ✨❤️
Hi. I watched your video yesterday night, but I really didn't know what to say. I didn't enjoy it. Of course, that isn't a knock on you or guests; it just something that didn't vibe with me. I did watch it in its entirety and upvoted it, because the amount of work behind it is insane. You know, like those highly intricate and technical progressive metal pieces that you can dissect for days, but just doesn't connect with you, if you don't mind the rustic comparison. I guess I just expected to see more from your perspective. I can't get over the fact that in almost 50 minutes, almost nothing from your side was in there. I understand that the focus were your guests, but there was enough room for both sides. I also expected to see more on the technical, creative inside of this video editing art, but didn't find it either. This is more of an expectation and preference on my side, and it's not necessarily a fault of your video. I say this because I just didn't want to say "I didn't enjoy it" and leave it at that nor wanted to be insincere with you. Just my humble opinion. I still look forward to your next videos.
It’s okay! I respect your opinion cos I agree with you haha 😅 it was so hard not to say something on certain parts but I didn’t make it about myself or add any personal input only cos of the guidelines I was given to meet to make something informative that is focused on a subject, I’m just the director/editor of the film and this was made more-so to those who want to learn about what the term and/or act of vidding means. I also wanted to dive in more on the actual editing process but that alone would be its own video/film cos it’s very detailed and specific to every person, so I could only give a basic idea of what it entails to the average viewer Thank you though for being honest with me! I really appreciate your comments & feedback always 🤍
I feel like I’m replying thank you to everyone a lot so let me just pin a comment haha, THANK YOU ALL! I am really happy this is leaving a good impression on my fellow editors and everyone just in general. It really means a lot and I can’t express my gratitude enough 😭🤍
can you make a video of you editing a video yk at the same time teaching us more on the editing world thank you😘
@@idabernal2486 I’m actually right now working on figuring out how to do that next~
I was just flattered by the works of your channel ❤️

This turned out absolutely amazing, and interesting! You better get a good grade for all the work you put in this because girl..you do have a talent that should be appreciated even more!! Thank you, for including me in your project!
Thank you so much! 🤍
Looking at your videos, you are really advanced compared to where i was 5-6 years into editing, so just keep up the practice and soon enough you will find people who appreciate your work ♡
this is really amazing
...
so many different opinions
so much effort has been put into
just awesome!
i'm so damn glad to be a part of this
thank you very much for giving me this opportunity

Thank you again for your contribution!
Oh my god… the dedication and effort you put into this is absolutely amazing! I enjoyed every second of it and I sincerely thank you for making a video that finally represents our community as a whole. 💗💗 I’ll be on the look-out for more vids from you!! 🥰🥰💖

Thank you so much again for being part it!
Okay I’m just seeing this but damn!!!! 🌟
this is very well detailed but i'm hearing bits of dreamcatcher's wonderland and i can't keep focusing on the documentary. great job, buddy. this is a pretty amazing documentary overall. i will probably edit this comment after i finish the whole thing :D
edit: finished the whole thing. i'm happy that this documentary exists. you breaked down every aspect and side of the community that has been here for so long but wasn't really explored by the people themselves. this will atleast gave them the knowledge to know what's up. thank you :D
Thank you so much 🥰
Thanks so much for this.
Thank you so much, and your English is fine, don’t worry 🥰
Thank you so much for this. A lot of people smile at this hobby of mine and none of my friends know about it. But just by knowing that there are one or two fans out there who tell me that they keep returning to this or that vid of mine is kinda nice. However, I do it for myself and am no part of any forum/community. I am concerned about creative rights since RUclips has become more repressive and European policies tight.
Thank you for watching 💜 and I agree, I wish there was a way we could post stuff without having to go through many obstacles
[B] When you’re a vidder but didn’t even realise the difference between an editor and a vidder 🤣😅
Found this video while trying to find other vids for inspiration and This whole video was so interesting and fun and educational to watch.

I also wanted to dive in more on the actual editing process but that alone would be its own video/film cos it’s very detailed and specific to every person, so I could only give a basic idea of what it entails to the average viewer
Thank you though for being honest with me! I really appreciate your comments & feedback always 🤍
