People think Ellie's darkness in the second game came out of nowhere. But this scene right here shows she always had the potential to mess people up, only it was Joel who kept her in the light
Also every time you play as her she brutally stabs people to death for takedowns. It's not one and done because she is too small so she has to be brutal.
I dont think people think the darknees of Ellie came out of nowhere, I think more people don't like in the sequel that she kills a lottttt of people seeking for vengence and in the end she does nothing to who she want revenge(I know the point of the game is that revenge is bad)

Sara’s death, Henry and Sam’s deaths, and David and the loss of Ellie’s innocence were the most emotional moments for me in TLOU1
Did you really think that was the moment that Ellie lost her innocence? She already lost when her bestfriend passed out
@@renanandre6031 Even though it hurt her immensely, Ellie was still a hopeful person after Riley’s death. But she trusts a guy who seemed to be nice, then almost gets eaten/raped/killed by him. After that, she’s never really the same. She’s colder, less trusting of others, and Joel.

@@renanandre6031 I think there are several moments that brush away her innocence, all of which were traumatizing for her: losing Riley and Sam, witnessing Henry's suicide, killing a man for the first time, the whole encounter with David. However, the most impactful for her, by far, seems to be almost being sexually assaulted and murdered by David. For the rest of the game she seems distracted, less talkative, colder with Joel, etc.
I mean it's inevitable in the post apocalyptic world.
This was the most heartbreaking part in the whole game for me, it made me cry the rest of the entire game and really made me sympathize with Ellie.
For me was Sara's death
For me was Sam’s & Henry’s deaths

This boss fight still scares the fucking shit out of me like how scared Ellie was.
No literally, everytime I’d replay certain chapters of the first game and the following chapter would come and it’s this one…I’d literally switch off the game because there’s no way I’d willingly put myself through so much anxiety and anxiousness again😂 I DREAD PLAYING THIS PART.
In the second game I hate the resort part as Ellie and the part where the WLF member gets gutted by the scars in the abandoned woods or anytime I’d have to fight WLF crews with dogs.😭😂
I can literally feel my heart racing (on any difficulty) when I'm being hunted by David in the steakhouse. WAY more than when I'm trying to escape his town in the blizzard.
@@nobuhle2054 doing this on on survivor and grounded gives me too much anxiety. Not having listening mode here is terrifying. I was getting heart palpatations. I had to look up if it was healthy for me to even play this part feeling that way.
This and the hotel basement are by far the scariest scenes of the game. The university dorms with the bloater used to be up there until I found out that you can sneak past them 🤣

There’s a detail that I really love. When she’s whaling at David the guitar strings sound unevenly played. Making it sound disturbing. Almost making you uneasy. But when she sees Joel the guitar strings play a really good tune
You can still hear the machete hitting the ground after Ellie stops hitting him but in the final shot it's on David's face

Despite there being zombies, this fight against a human was the scariest part of the game for me.
Same!!! I only completed it on moderate and just got to this checkpoint on Survivor. I’m eagerly and dreadfully anticipating this encounter. I turned it off so I can give it a go all day Saturday

I liked that they didn't remove Joel taking a quick glance at David's ummm you know.
It shows that even a hardened survivor like Joel is shocked at how badly Ellie fucked up David's face.

Ellie’s face at 5:58 looks so different from the original. In the original, she looks up to Joel with wide blank eyes, which works. But now, I don’t know how to describe that expression, except it feels more ugly, more real. Seriously, compare this with the remaster, the difference is crazy.

This scene makes me cry every time, not only because of how heartbreaking it is, but also because it reminds me about, what its like to have a father figure. Damn, im kinda envious. I know Joel isn’t perfect, but damn

If I recall correctly, David WAS a pedo and he was going to do horrible things to Ellie. Developers simply didn't add specific details in the game since it was a disturbing content to express.
I think he planned to rape her at one point but right here, David was clearly going for the kill.

This scene will never get old. Ellie destroys david's head with a machete while that guitar note play in the background is such a perfection. And that emotional hug with Joel in the end is just a cherry on top. 11/10 scene in my opinion.

This game was rough from beginning to end. I love how the Ellie-Joel relationship developed. The ending taught me about how karma really can be real, Joel shooting Abbie's dad which made her seek revenge. This game definitely won me over.

This game was so well written, this the moment when both the in game character and the player both are fully invested in protecting Ellie at all cost. And in my opinion why so many people had problems with the Last of Us 2 because they'll failed to realize that though we love these characters they aren't "the good guys." Joel is Abby's David.

I've had so many glitches at this stage. I've not had the place set on fire, I've had David stuck on the outside. I've had it where David took my revolver but I still had it and could shoot David. And so on and so on.
It's so crazy to me that David is voiced by Nolan North, such an out of left field character for him that he absolutely nails.
I remember first playing this around 2016 in my parents house at 3am, when they were sleeping. I couldnt help but scream at the PS3 when she grabs the machete. Man i cried so hard my dad woke up

Whole David/Winter encounter was tense AF, and made all the more stressful if you picked up on how obsessed David was with Ellie and what his real intentions were. This fight also gets worse the longer it goes on!! Not only is David in mega stealth after the second stab, but all his dialogue is scary as hell!! The longer you fight him the more you have to put up with the whole "Come on Ellie!! Run rabbit run. You know it's a shame you wouldn't come around" ughhhh. It's like shut up David why can't we just go our separate ways 😭😭
