    Karen Witemeyer is such an incredible author! I love her stories. They are so unique and fun to read! Whisper Her Name is a beautiful cover. Julie Klassen is definitely someone I would recommend to read as Historical Christian Romance. As well as Melanie Dickerson's Regency ones is good as well.

    I read Redeeming Love about 15 years ago and still recommend it to people ... I bought 5 copies and blessed 5 woman and they all came to me to tell me it was a life changing book ! Francine Rivers's is one of my favorite authors too. Loved The Scarlett's Thread. 👌🏼💛 TFS!

      Yes, I love Francine Rivers! I haven't read The Scarlett's Thread; I will have to look that one up! To be honest, my husband has actually researched and purchased a number of these books for me as presents over the years - he's done a really good job :)

    Loved this list. Mark of the Lion is such a good series. I really like Deeanne Gist such a good author. I don't know if I have read must of Colleen Coble's historical fiction. I do like her mysteries though even though some end up leaving me on edge all day! Ha. I know that you made this list a while ago but I really like the Cheney Duvall series by Gilbert and Lynn Morris, such an interesting look at life right after the civil war.

    Hi. I know this is an old video but I thought I’d recommend The Austen Escape to you. It’s by Katherine Reay and a contemporary Christian fiction. I think you’ll enjoy it because the main character goes to Bath to stay at a Jane Austen house where they have to dress up and live like one of the characters for a week. It has a good plot and it’s a favorite of mine.

    You should try books by Lori Wick. I love most all of them. My favorite is The Princess and though its not historical Christian romance, it kind of has that feel. But plenty of her others are historical. Where the Wild Rose Blooms is the 1st of 4 in a series. Love her!

    Sara, I just stumbled on your channel by accident when I was looking up Lauraine Snelling. I noticed that you had read “A Promise for Ellie” while it is true that was book one in The Daughters Of Blessing series you really need to go back and start with “An Untamed Heart” than move to “The Red River of the North series” because they set the stage for what would happen in “Promise” Ms. Snelling is one of my favorite authors so I tend to read all of her books and mostly all what I call “The Blessing Books” These are six different series and over twenty books. I would have to agree with you about Tamera Alexander for I love her style as well and the amount of research that she puts into each and every book. She has a new one what is to be released on Tuesday Jan. 8th, 2019 and the title is With This Pledge” and sat during the battle of Franklin Tn. during the Civil War. You might also look into Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse. Oh there are so many out there that I could keep going on for days. May the Lord bless you and your family.

    Just curious! But why wouldn’t you give redeeming love to your daughters to read before they’re married? I read it as a single woman, and I feel like it really gave me perspective of what to look for in a godly man when I do marry. Yes, it has sexual content in it, but as someone who has struggled with the porn in the past, I personally didn’t think anything lustful while I was reading it. Francine Rivers talks about prostitution and sex in a tasteful way that sheds light on certain topics. I don’t think that, as Christians, that we should avoid talking about prostitution and sex. It shouldn’t be taboo to talk about it.
    Also, why do you struggle with considering it a Christianbook? It’s based on the book Hosea in the Bible.

    I read Jeniffer dela mere and Elizabeth Caden and I do not her exactly Guist I read 2 her books. Dela mere is great I read 3 of her books and aTamera Alexander. First I believe that she was the historical romance ande lameré also. Kasey michaels is historical romance but she wrote a 3 books series surprise those 3 books of colonial times the first one Coming home complete Christian historical romance. The books are really a Christian of the nobility from England he has a farm in Pennsylvania and then meet this young woman who emigrate from Ireland 🇮🇪 to looking her uncle in Pennsylvania. I recommend her books.

    If you like Jane Austen, you will enjoy Julie Klassen's take on the time period. Lady of Milkweed Manner, The Gatekeeper's Daughter, etc.
    LOVE Bride for Donnigan! (Hallmark's season's of Janette Oke is not like the books at all. ;)) THey also did the Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke.
    Lori Wick has great books. I love the Californians series. You might enjoy The Kesington Chronicles (Hawk and the Jewel, and others). And even though it's set in "modern day" (1980's), my favorite book of all time is Sophie's Heart by Lori Wick.
    Kim Vogel Sawyer is another great author.

      I actually have read a few books of hers a few months ago. I thought they were ok but the writing style was a little hard for me to get into for some reason. That's one thing I'm trying to figure out for myself - what is it about one author's writing style that I really like but others that I don't? I feel like I've come across good plots/story ideas but the writing is just so-so to me and I'm having a hard time putting my finger on what it is that makes something really good and only so-so to me...Thanks for the suggestion though!

    I love Redeeming love by Francine Rivers 😍😍

  • @gabriela2310
    @gabriela2310 4 года назад

    I do not agree with your choice of not recommending “Redeeming love” to unmarried women (and lets remark you mention women and not men). The book it’s exactly about forgiveness, redemption and let the past behind. I don’t see how can affect in a negative way to “unmarried women”. Both married and unmarried women are able to take choices, and that will not change by reading a book.

    • @SaraWeston
      @SaraWeston  4 года назад

      All that you said it true with regards to forgiveness, redemption and leaving the past behind. I said that in regards to the sensual nature of parts of it. My thought process in saying what I said was that I was trying to protect unmarried minds from potentially fixating on those aspects of the book. Does that make sense?

    • @gabriela2310
      @gabriela2310 4 года назад

      Sara Weston Yes, I understand more your thought process, but either way we cannot treat the subjects of the books as tabus towards the younger people (both male and female not only the last ones), especially because at the end of the day those subjects are in the Bible itself, and better learn with guide about those sensible subjects than learning it from friends or the internet, let them take choices but with the power of information
