Jimmy, there is one way to be able to understand scripture, that is to read it yourself from the beginning until the end (chronologicaly), twice. Then read the apocrypha, the book of Enoch, and so on!! I have been amazed at how many people have not read the Bible! I have personally had a man who has been through seminary school tell me that he had not read the Bible, but he studied it!!

Before reading the Bible I always recite Psalm 119:18. It states, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.”
