    Dry rot 😳
    Never heard of and now I know what happened to some succulents.
    Thank you for another informative video. There has been a spate of new videos and enjoyed them all. The weather is turning in our region- less humidity and it’s cooler. So my interest in them has revived once again. Keep sharing your expertise.

      haha wow yes winters are coming time for succulent shopping…yes dry rot is major issue for people from warm and humid environment if the succulent is underwatered for long it will get dry rot and it’s fatal 😕

    Hi LG,
    So true Frank, I have experienced this hesitation when a new arrival has entered.
    But plants need to get acclamatised and once they are comfy then they are fine.
    Thanks for sharing your tips on care and nutrition.
    Have a great day 🌟

      I have the same problem! Some new arrivals just drop their leaves. I was never sure what to do. Water them or not? Is the soil too dry? When was the last time they watered them? Always afraid to overwater the beauties! It‘s so hard to just leave them alone when their leaves are dropping! But as you said, overwatering them is just more harmful than letting them dry out. I always need to concentrate on that! With new arrivals it‘s so hard to tell what they need! I really have lots of plants, i have terarriums with rainforrest plants, bromelia, tillandsia, etc. I have ficus elastica and ceropegia wodii. Philodendron and pepperomia. But honestly, echeveria or pachyphytum are my favourites, but they are sooo sensitive! People always say that succulents are good for beginners. I disagree! I‘m no beginner. I studied biology but these guys are not easy at all! 😂
      Thanks for your video. I find it really helpful when it comes to the question why they‘re losing leaves. Just got some new sorts of echeveria and needed something to ensure myself to do the right things. Thanks!

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 года назад +1

      succulent leaves in general are very fragile and delicate slightest touch can drop some …..even early signs of stretching or over watering can drop even though they look perfectly fine

    Mine is beautiful but they drop botom leafes I have it for 4 months now. But I didn’t see them growing back at the bottom ! Looks a little bit bold at the bottom what can I do ? I do not over water them. I mostly forget watering them so like every 10 days give them water

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 года назад

      mostly if the leaves dry or turn yellow and fall off they will usually not grow pups or leaves on that same spot we’re the leaves are fallen …..do the bottom leaves wrinkle and fall off and any idea what variety of succulent it is ? ….there could be various reason ….as you said you don’t overwater so other factors could be under watering,or issue with roots or the succulent is getting acclimated or stretching…..if possible you can share a pic of it on my Instagram it will be much better to see it and suggest something ☺️

    Hello i have one gollum jade from last 1 year and give less water once in a week ,now i noticed its leaves are wrinkled and more in downside less in top but still there. If i tough them they are tend to soft,i am unsure if its overwatered or under. Leaves are not dropping but its wrinkled amd soft if i touch,and not transparent ,is it underwatered ?

    What about healthy leaves that drop? Maybe from elements being bumped?

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  5 месяцев назад

      yes very true like sedum especially donkey tail and burros tail and at time graptopetalum purple delight also they have extremely delicate attachment of leaves they can easily fall off with a slightest touch

    I repot my plant with different type of gritty soil and it just shed its leaves without any sign of yellowing or brown leaves the leaves are so healthy. What might cause of it?

    • @LushGardener

    I HAVE SEMPERVIVUMS AND THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THEM. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASE THEM THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND JUICY. AFTER A WHILE THEY DO NOT DRY UP OR DIE BUT THEY LOOK LIFELESS. WHAT COULD I BE DOING WRONG???

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 года назад +1

      I completely quit sempervivums 🤣can’t handle them here cause of heat
      what’s your climate and temperature in general ?

    • @Chafalota
      @Chafalota 2 года назад +2

      @@LushGardener IT'S VERY DRY, EXTREMELY HOT AS HIGH AS 115 DEGREES FARENHEIT, DOES NOT SNOW. I WAS MAYBE THINKING OF CHANGING TO ECHEVERIAS BUT ALSO CAN THEY WITHSTAND THE HEAT AND NOT DIE ??? OR DO THEY RESIST OR NOT ???

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 года назад +1

      @@Chafalota ahh that’s why sempervivum prefer dry and cooler temperatures below 24 Celsius ( 75.2°F )
      they are frost hardy which means they handle low temperatures……same as my situation the climate is warm hot hence I gave up on them has they can’t handle too much heat that why your sempervivum are going semi dormant temperatures above 25-27 Celsius they go dormant which is not a good sign
      Echeverias can do well upto 35-37 Celsius ( 95°F ) more than that they can’t handle the heat and will go semi dormant best option is get grow lights and grow them indoor which will be a good idea

      overwatering or underwatering ?

  • @jenniferquinn7256
    @jenniferquinn7256 5 месяцев назад +2

    It can take less than a week to kill a succulent by overwatering but months to kill by under watering! If in doubt don’t water! 😂
