dude the shotgun GL rounds were ABSOLUTELY insane last wipe. they were one hit kill through every level of armor and the spread was massive.
I have been wanting to use a build like the one Buck uses in R6 siege with the under barrel shotgun
I agree with you, i try gl40 with shotgun gl rounds and its shreds any armor you can shot, this shotgun gl rounds can easy one tap in legs left-right, and any kind of body parts.
The insane part i experienced with shotgun gl rounds is destroying a slick/hexagrid chad with only one shot (shot it in thorax, and legs). Maybe you gonna doubt about this but hey, try it by yourself if you want.

@@Janghyuun i think its cuz the shotgun gl round does 2400 damage total. its like 90x15 and the armor damage is apparently really nasty too. the instant i figure out how to get m203s reliably im gonna use that as an even cheesier ks23 lol
@@hamptonhouse6189 they spawn in the Concordia security room most often, along with GP-25s. Look out for any Weapon Mods rooms and their corresponding keys on the wiki as well, I have more than 2 of each UBGL by now.

haha same. Might be a lot of fun though. I ran into one GL last wipe not counting pre-wipe events. Hopefully this doesn't get shoved in the end game drawer as well.

@@AbneyDude I hope it does. GLs are unfun as is, they shoot at anything near you and you die with no counterplay. Here comes the hordes of nakeds with gls camping extracts and quests
I doubt anyone's gonna use it to be honest. I hate that they've added this at all, but honestly not worth losing handguards + grip + whatever else you want to attach

Yeah that's my thought as well. I got mine off a dude I killed, and my buddy gave me one he found. Might be something that's not only end game, which is exciting.

Yeah I think it's fair, they have to balance it somehow. I can't imagine a hunk of metal at the front of your gun is very ergonomic.
Who needs ergo when you have point fire?

Found a GP-25. Fun to play with, and also challenging to use. Lowest zeroing is 100m and it has a 0.4s fuse time, so it can only be used in medium to long range engagements.
dude all you need is a laser and to aim the laser right at them, its so easy to use
The shotgun round does 180 flesh damage per pellet.. very effective!
Finally some real use for the VOGs! Very excited for these!
The difficulty in aiming the GP-25 is related to the zero. Because grenades are heavy and fly slowly, they are fired in a large arc (that's why the PMC tilts the rifle a lot with every zero increment, to increase the arc). However, if you fire at something inside the zero range, for example a target at 50m when you are zeroed for 100m, the grenade will be at the highest point of it's arc when it meets the target, so it will impact very high. This is why you hit the LAV when you were aiming below it at 1:26, the LAV was inside the zero range.
This coupled with the arming distance of the VOG will make the GP-25 a medium/long range weapon, whereas the M203 without a sight (or with a laser) will be more suitable for close range.
hope we get the carrying handle mounted quadrant sights, rail mounted leaf sights and the side mounted red dot adapter for aiming the M203 (I think the leaf sights and possibly the side mounted red dot adapter also work with the FN GL when mounted under a SCAR IRL but I might be wrong, the leaf sights will definitely go on the top rail but not sure if the zeroing is the same as an M203 on an AR pattern rifle)
The gun tilts because the round is launched out much slower than a bullet and thus the round drops much more quickly. Aiming gun up means more distance travelled before impact.

if you're close range with the gp25 you can use the normal frontsight of the gun to get an idea of where the round is going (it will go about the same height as the frontsight but left of it ofc)
fyi the reason why the GP-25 sight was hard to use in the video is because the GP-25 sight ranges exactly to 100 meters, so when you aim for something closer than 100M the VOG will hit above the sight target. As seen in the video he was aiming at the vehicle and the round went over the target because the sight is ranged to 100 meters.
its more because the velocity is 75 m/s while the m203 is 185

The pageup pagedn feature SHOULD be for use with the grenade launcher iron sights. M203s and GL40s in real life have a secondary iron sight that you deploy to zero the grenades properly in increments of 100.
The m203 has an iron sight you attach irl, doesn’t come attached to the launcher like the GP. Sadly not implemented ingame yet
With the rounds being pricy (off traders) its a great way to stop them being in every raid.

The gp25s are only like 20k on flea start of wipe. And I already have 2 if the ak launchers. Haven't gotten a m203 yet but my buddy got one with a round in the chamber on customs. Def gonna be interesting
Aw they haven't modeled yet the fun part of the VOG GL, it has a couple more notches on it's sight allowing it to fire a 200m high and a 300m high arc allowing mortar fire.
for the gp-25, where the tip of front sight and the sight from the gp-25 meet, like a cross is your aim point, its wierd and i dont now why its like that but its how i use it.
with the vog id run a laser to help with the closer shots.
I got one wipe day and ran it last night but u cant buy any explosive rounds for it on the flea
dont sleep on the m203 buckshot, it does 4k damage per round, aim center mass at 10-20 and you'll likely hit enough limbs to kill, if closer just aim for legs

The shotgun 40mm round is pretty good surprisingly, it straight up destroys, even if they have max armor on, it'll do work
If the shotgun grenade is ANYTHING like the shotgun grenade for the GL, its actually broken. If you aim at the legs it can pretty much 1 shot anything, even bosses
The tilting of the gun is legit how you shoot a gl lil irl knowledge
I found that the GP 25 is the best because of the elevation mechanism. You can just mortar people if you have enough friends.

Just found an M203 on a scav run of all things. I keep it for offline fun. Its so good, but if you shoot someone too close, the HE wont go off, which I suppose is a good thing.
That zeroing is interesting. might be usable as a kind of Mortar? Would be interessting to see how it flys and where the impact is
Irl GP-25 zeroing CAN allow u to point ur gun up the skies and use it like a mortar

Do we know which handguards the under barreled gl for the M4 is compatible with? I’m probably gonna try to make something that looks sick rather than meta when I get my hands on one.
i looked earlier and so far it only works on one (i forgot the name it’s one of the base barrels already unlocked)
It works for any that can be split in 2, so the base handguard, the KAC RIS, and Daniel Defense rails should work. I dont know about the other ones yet.

Fun fact: The M203 irl have a sight that can be mounted on top of a rail handguard
The GL shotgun rounds are flechette. They SHRED armor. They're one of the most effective ways to use it

Can the FN40GL be mounted on the scars like IRL ?
1:06 it's useable as in real life, if you see a stationary target at 400m you can adjust to 400m with the sighting.

I am pretty sure that the shotgun rounds completely ignore armor btw and in my opinion the ak grenade rounds are much better because it needs to be further and because of how cheap it is

The russian GL must be definitely good for the woods, their zeroing works to make you to be able to use them like a mini mortar as they intended

the gp25 is meant to lob instead of shoot straight. it will probably be best at ranged fights

IRL it was supposed to be used as a portable mortar, that’s why the weapon tilts with zeroing
The gp25 would hit straight on with it's sight if it was used at the proper range. I think it would be more suited for close quarters if you used a laser on the gun like the m203 to aim it.

I used the m203 in the marines, I wish they would add the grenade launcher sight (GLS) into the game. It was essentially a side mounted red dot sight that you would use for the GL and it was actually extremely accurate when used correctly. Unfortunately we just got rid of the 203s in favor of the standalone m320s but I sure as hell miss my 203

@@ivanquiles4903 kind of yea, it’s not nearly as compact and it also doesn’t have a gls. Just iron sights which work fine too but not as easy. It is also heavier

Don't sleep on those shotgun rounds. Last wipe I one tapped tagila using the grenade launcher shotgun round. Hit him in his left collar bone area and dropped his ass.
Best to not use a suppressor on the GL, so you can have SOME ergo
It’s funny that people don’t like the idea of these so much while forgetting that you can find or trade for impacts easy.
It makes sense now why they nerfed the M4, they prob saw this launcher would absolutely make it too powerful.

Yep, so, changing the zeroing matters since you can very easily use it as an ersatz mortar. If you've never played Rising Storm Vietnam, or any other game where this is a mechanic, you're in for a terrible surprise if you run into someone who knows what they're doing.
So yeah. Kinda useful.

Playing solo is hard enough and stuff like this can make it even harder, alienating a big portion of the playerbase.

they're only obtainable from either world loot or a barter from max level traders locked behind a quest, so don't worry about running into these too frequently.
@@sped4814 Ive been playing woods mostly, and in total I've only found two GL rounds, and the actual GL looks like its locked behind labs top tier loot.
99% of the time you will just get sprayed down by a gigachad with an m4 with m995 so it doesnt really make a difference tbh, if that already happens to you this won't change anything.
Well I mean, if I'm playing solo I feel like having one of these helps me more than a team I'm fighting, I can now initiate by blowing up one or more of their team, and shooting the others quickly after 🤷
