I’ve never read the Night Circus, but sometimes I’m so hesitant to read older books that are really hyped because I know that there are books I would have raved about 5 or 10 years ago, but that would probably feel super meh about now.
I’m so sold on Let The Right Ones In, the premise sounds so incredible and I love that it actually has an emotional impact.

The premise definitely sounds amazing! And it’s so hard, because some books are beloved for a really good reason.

Hahahaha, I am so sorry about the Night Circus, I know everyone LOVES that one. I think I have it on my shelves somewhere but haven't gotten around to it yet. I loved Let the Right One In, the movie...I need to read that book!

I remember liking the Night Circus when I read it, but I do feel like that I would hate it now...mainly because I don’t read much American literature anymore. I love the ambiance, but I don’t like overly detailed descriptions...but no plot is always of interest to me 😂
Great idea of getting the entire Sherlock Holmes, I haven’t read them all, not a high priority for me. I like my crime fiction to be darker and more grim..and the detective needs to be cynical, not overly observant.
I’m so glad you liked Let The Right One In, it was a fascinating novel. Obviously I love the exploration of such an unusual friendship but also the way it explored the darker side of humanity.
I’ve not read any Alejandra Pizarnik but you’re not the first person I’ve heard recommend her. I’m terrible at reading poetry, but the way you described it, makes me curious to give her a try.
I don’t think I’ll read Dread Nation, but I like the premise, I would watch a tv adaptation of that, if it ever happens. But it sounds like it deals with racism, sexism, misogyny and colonialism, maybe I’m overlooking it. I’ve not read Anne Carson either, sounds interesting but maybe not for me.
I really enjoyed this wrap up, not really a fan of this style of video normally but it was like you were having a conversation of what you read. Really enjoyed that, I’m a new subscriber to your channel now.

i think dread nation would make an excellent tv show, it has all the elements that would make for good action/drama :) i also feel like i’m terrible at reading poetry, because it makes me confused a lot of the time, but it also opens windows into such strange and powerful worlds ✨
