Four-time Rally World Champion Juha Kankkunen sets a new Guinness World Record for the fastest speed ever recorded for tractors. Mr. Kankkunen whipped a Valtra T234 tractor up to a speed of 130.165 km/h on northproof Nokian Hakkapeliitta TRI tyres.

Tbh first heard of this tractor on FS17 thought it was just a creator having fun with the data values. Really 80MPH? I bet the farmers out here would love highway speeds to get to the fields faster. At 60mph versus 25 or 30 mph

they have special harden Nokia phones to crush normal Nokia phones in to dust and they use this dust to make the rubber for the Nokian tyres ;P
Attaching nokia phones to the rims would make it way too dangerous. It would just peel the asphalt off.

An Allis-Chalmers tractor on Firestone tires set the record of 109.237 km/h (67.877 mph) way back in 1935. Driven by Ab Jenkins. That's if I have my info right.

Could someone explain, why did the rear output shaft break? I would not expect this on an agco tractor!
Don´t know, but maybe because this tractor has 470 hp and 1700 Nm:-)
That's just how valtra works, or should I say doesn't work :)
TPoweR2x To gain this speed, they most likely have connected the differential shaft directly to the wheel shaft, thereby leaving out this planetary reduction of 3:1 to 4:1. so it has to take off in the lowest gear possible. So when taking off with an empty tractor, the torque on the halfshaft is 3 to 4 times as high as in a standard tractor, and the differential output shaft snaps.

There are enough bad drivers in the winter time , now they got to be in speeding tractors yet ?
The only way they can do this is on ice. That is why they are not on pavement. The surface has to be flat with out bumps since the tractor has no suspension. One bump at that speed would be a disaster!

@@dkdanis1340 Yes I just looked that up and it does have suspension. Here in Canada last time I checked a tractor could not have a suspension if driven on roads or it would have to have lic and insurance. I think most tractors will have some form of suspension in the future.

How did they achieve this with a standard tractor gearbox and diff ratio's, if that was changed it is not a tractor anymore, or the revs must go up to 8000, they only talk about software change, did I miss something

Transmission needs to be strong enough to either spin the wheels or stall the engine in any scenario. Period. So, the grip was so good that the wheels did not spin...instead the transmission broke? On ice? Without chains? Maan...that's bullshit. I'm very sorry to say, but this doesn't look good at all and as to why another finnish company (Nokian Tyres) wold put this on youtube is beyond me. Or is this to prove that their tires offer better grip on ice than other tires on dry asphalt? Which is...you guessed...bullshit.
it snapped not because of the traction or tyres, but because it was spinning too fast, a tractor is only made to drive in like 40 km/h, this one was driving way more than that, maybe 80 km/h

@@keijo8238 those power-trains where never made to go 130km/h even top fuel drag cars made to go stupid fast will snap an output shaft every now and then. nothing is ever perfect even NASA has had shit go wrong.
Cheating, a 4wd drive axle was removed. This tractor could not have done any tractor work and by definition is not a tractor. Valtra lost credibility here, weak, embarrassing!

it doesnt need to be 4wd to be a tractor and most tractors have a clutch for the front wheels and they disconnect at road speeds.
