You can donate them to a women's homeless shelter
You should frog the projects and turn them into blankets since you don’t want to wear them but they could make great blankets!
Agreed-- so much waste in this video, afraid it sort of ruined it for me :(
I'm continuing binge watching you today. There are quite a few south african crochet podcasters that use mainly hand dyed merino wool. SOuth Africa is one of the biggest exporters of Merino Wool. African Expressions is such a cool brand of local merino wool. huge colour palette. When I livestream, I have some ppl come up and sit and spin wool while we are chatting. the crochet community is totally catching on to hand dyed wool. Love this video where you showed all you did.
Yes I feel like that’s how my past 6 months crocheting has been. I’m learning and experimenting to grow my skills. I started knitting and realized I’m wanting to knit more than crochet, but I still want to grow my skills in crochet and challenge myself so I’m going to make it a point to keep at my crochet on the side doing more difficult projects. I can’t wait to see my videos a year from now to see how far I’ve come.
absolutely living for the giant disguised toast plush. fantastic job!
Girl you are what got me into natural fibers! Don’t get me wrong, I still like acrylic but I am definitely picky, I still love big twist, mandala by lion brand & caron cakes but I recently got into alpaca & merino wool for sock making & I can’t wait to buy enough to make myself a beautiful sweater so thank you for opening that window for me 🥰
It's too heavy on the wallet though 😩
@@medicamedico4335 it definitely is a lot, I buy hand dyed natural yarns for my socks because I love making them & that’s not to bad because if it’s 400 yards or up you only need one for socks! But for clothing you need a significant amount, even for the cheaper brands like drops it costs close to 100 dollars, so I plan on slowly growing my collection & maybe just doing it to treat myself! But I highly recommend getting a skein here & there for socks because it’s much cheaper & you can still wear them!
For that peekachoo sweater (gorgeous by the way) that is a bit hard/stiff, just soak scratchy yarn in water with a bit of white vinegar and it really softens up.
i can’t believe all of this was last year! we started knitting around the same time. can’t wait to see what you do this year :D
Socks are so much fun to knit & hearing that you are not afraid of small needles & love hand-dyed yarn, I bet you would love them. I've been knitting for ages, but I only got into socks when the pandemic hit. I have not stopped knitting them since! Finished my 25th pair today (with pairs 26-30 already on the needles, haha!). I can't wait to see what you make in 2022!
Ooooohhh we love a long video. Starting the year right 👏🏾👏🏾
Omg you're the most relatable crochet context creator I've found. I started pretty recently but I've been learning skills by attempting random pieces like you. Really excited to see all the stuff I make in the next year
came for the toast plushie, stayed for the chill vibes and gorgeous projects. Thanks for sharing!
Love sit down and chatty videos! This was so awesome to see everything you made, congrats, you achieved so much! As well as seeing your progression in crochet and knitting. It’s so lovely to see how passionate you are about fibre arts, and I can’t wait to see what you make in this new year! 🎉
I’m currently just a crocheter but love your knitting content! I’m planning to try and learn to knit sometime in the new year (as I can’t get over how cute knitted socks are!!) so thank you for all the recommendations for beginner friendly patterns! 💕
Thank you so much! I hope your knitting journey goes well whenever you decide to start! 💙
I am so happy that I found your channel, it is not a lot of us in the knit or crochet world. I am jealous that you got the knitting so quick. It took me about a year to click in my hands and brain. I haven't made an adult sweater yet so I am going to just do it 🙃. I crochet mostly, but I love knitting for a peaceful tranquil mood.
You should check out last minute Laura. she mainly uses wool when crocheting and has a lot of crochet and chat with me videos every other day and a lot of tutorials. Her and TL yarn are the reason why I started to use Merino wool
Drop shoulder is the first knit sweater I made. I love it and wear it very often. Attempting a raglan now. :) But I started out with a sweater. Other than the swatches I made to learn to knit and purl.
I made a patchwork cardigan out of my test swatches. I wear it practicality everyday lol
Happy new year, I was also thinking you rip all the crochet projects u don't want and use the yarn to knit, just suggesting
I totally agree with you on amigurumi! I personally am not a big fan of counting stitches so I don't like following amigurumi patterns that much (or really any patterns haha but especially when it comes to magic circles and such) but I was gifted an amigurumi pattern book when I first started crocheting and it ended up teaching me all the basics. I learned double crochets, half double crochets, decreases, etc. so I'm really grateful that I started with amigurumi even though it isn't my favorite to crochet
I love your skirts and sweaters collection. Ut is so nice 😍. Congratulation.
That makes so much sense when you explained M1R & M1L thank you so much! I love all your work. I just started really getting into knitting more. I'm making a sweater but I'm winging it and I am also working on a queen size blanket. But I love the way you explain things ☺️
Awesome makes🥰 can’t wait to see what you make this year💕
This video really helped me understand yarn! Thank you! I am in the stage where every cardigan I crochet I don’t end up wearing because it’s too stiff and uncomfortable. I am going to try to get into knitting! Thank you for this video!
Love your sweaters and things u made so nice 🎉🎉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Knitted bags and tank tops and knitted ribbed hats
I love that cardigan
I seriously think we started knitting at the same time. Lol my monogamous relationship with crochet was short lived.
Girl palace belt around that cotton striped sweater and it will look super cute as a dress.
Nice idea, but not really into that kind of style 😆
@@knitwithkali haha true. I'm a covering Muslim so I live my leggy fashion ideas through others haha 😄
Hi, could you do a video explaining the different types of yarn and who is the Best for a particular project? (skirts, tops, ect)
I don’t think there’s a best type of yarn for a particular project honestly. It’s really just based on what type of yarn people prefer, the place they live, etc that really determines what yarn is “best” for certain projects.
Wow you are talented!
Loved this video. Some crazy whacky knits! If they were only made of wool!. congrats
Toast also wow girl nice big pillow nice and cofy
Tennis skirt and pants wow very nice🌹💕😍
31:40
So beautiful 😍
Once you find what you like to do, frog them and reuse the cotton for something else
I love everything you made so far. I am still learning how to knit and I would love to learn how to crochet as well.. Can't wait for you're content for this year.
Ty for sharing. Loved it all.
Bruh you are so good omg
I enjoyed your sharing of all your hard work. Now I always wanted to learn how to knit and watched a few videos and it didn't capture me like crochet did. I was mesmerized watching people knit socks and that's what I would make if I ever learned how to knit. I am a sock person if that's what someone who buys and buys sock every time I shop. I want to knit socks nothing else , and I'm left handed so will it be possible.
I recently made a cardigan with yarn that is 80% acrylic + 20% wool. Does anyone have tips for washing it?❤
P.S I just found your channel and your and your sisters talent is through the roof!! Even when you're guessing and experimenting, you seriously know what you're doing. Definitely need to be more recognized🙂
Since it’s mostly acrylic, I think you can get away with washing and drying it in a washer and dryer as long as it’s on a gentle cycle. Thank you!!
@@knitwithkali thank you!
Your color work is awesome 👍
How many skeins did u use to make the novice chunky sweater the red and white one?
I wish i got the cotton tip before i crocheted a sweater with it lmao but once it stretches out my fiance will probs give it to me as a cozy home sweater
I think yew should try making pants using granny squares🤔that would be fun😁👍
I wanna see you or one of your sisters make more cardigans!!! Haha
What camera is this please .... I love the quality
Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II
Can you make a video on how you made that tennis shirt
When I made my first cardigan with all different panels for the front & back & all that I made it WAAAAAAYYY to big as well so don’t feel bad 😂
😂😂😂 the struggle of making things for the first time
I loved this video also new years eve is my birthday! Also have you tried the hipster hat bye petite knit?
Ohhh happy birthday!! And that’s literally the next hat I plan to make haha
Cool. I like knitting.
Love all the stuff you made. You can see a lot of process and growth. 😻 I was wondering if you know how to prefent the cotton from the stretching. Like using a different type of cotton, or weight, or hook, or stitch? I want to make some summer clothes with cotton this year, but I don't want to stretch it like that. Do you have any advice? 😊
Thanks! I actually have no clue since when I was using cotton, I didn’t know anything about taking care of the fiber or what goes into maintaining it, and since I don’t use it anymore, I still have no clue unfortunately. My only suggestion would be to maybe use a cotton/wool blend and see if that works. Other than that, I have no advice based on personal experiences/preferences.
@@knitwithkali thanks for your advice! 😊
Is this the path that everyone takes crocheting because I literally went from blankets, to amigurumi, and finally to clothes lmao
😂😂😂
Oh my god my first creation was a blanket now im doing amigurumi and planning on making clothes. You are spot on lmao
Where do you order your mohair yarn from??
I usually get my mohair from Knitting For Olive or Woolwarehouse
What is blocking ?
What yarn/fiibre would you recommend when crocheting clothe so it wont stregtch to much?
Anything with wool is my personal preference, but acrylic is a good option as well
Where can I find the pattern for the striped short sleeve at 1:27:33 ?
On kopydolls.com called “Striped Madness” ☺️
@@knitwithkali Thank you!
Where can I find the pattern for the top at 1:27:28 I can’t find it :)
It’s the Striped Madness pattern by MrBobvin on our shop (kopydolls.com) ☺️
@@knitwithkali Thankyou so much ☺️
Hi! I know this is a big ask, but would you be willing to sell me your avatar sweater?? My husband and I binge avatar at least once a year and he had been asking me to make him an avatar sweater for a while but yours is literally perfect! If not no worries, I may try to venture into making my own but I love yours! Thank you!!!
You should frog them & start over….
Nah
