I just stumbled upon this yesterday and between communing with my biological and Christian families I watched all thirteen chapters.
I can't remember the year that I camped at Bushnell and worked in the kitchen, but I will never forget that you drove up to me and commented on never before seeing a guy wearing baggy shorts and engineer boots. After that icebreaker you thanked me for helping in the kitchen. I hadn't mentioned that I had been doing that so it impressed me that you must have seen me in the mess hall.
I mentioned that I loved your cover of The Who's Bargain and you replied it's all about perspective and Jesus followers' perspective must be different than the world's. As someone who was a false convert at that time our conversation was instrumental in my eventual authentic acceptance of Jesus.
Thank you for obeying Christ all of these years.

You were actually the reason i first got saved, coming from a music background, especially blues, finding someone playing blues AND being a Christian was a big deal for me

Thank you Glenn, for following Jesus Christ And for these carefully chosen words. I believe that it is your music career that God has most used you. At least in my case it's true. If you had not given yourself To the God of heaven to be used In a music ministry I might not have made it. That's what he used to catch this man. Thanks for following him and doing as he instructed you.

    Glenn:
I cannot thank you enough for your wonderful music. The lyric "Jesus brings the light into every situation" from the song Elevator Music has ping-ponged in my head so many times--prompting me to pray and seek God's wisdom. I too, was a product of the Jesus Movement--the very tail end. Your observations are indeed challenging. We all have a tendency to romanticize the past. I wish I could find a church today as vibrant and alive as the one that guided and shaping my walk in the 1970s. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

Wow thanks so much glenn. I got saved around 1978/79. So kind of on the tails of all this this was great for me to listen to.
I have a lot of friends, and I've done it myself, where you walk in the futility of your mind, got it all figured out, etc... (just have to kind of ignore those scriptures about not forsaking the assembly of the saints and so forth...)
    Anyhows, thanks bro.
God bless you all out there as you move through all this - as he carries you all through all this!
    ...we are one day closer.

    Thanks Glen. Very encouraging.
    YES AND AMEN.
I'm an ordained minister within a nondenominational Christian group. Your comments of the "Institutional" Church are spot on.
I've spent years at the front of a church building and I am still a member of that same church, but, I feel that the Church (the body of Christ) needs to be unchurched. I'm sure that God is about call more people out of the Institution and back into an organic spontaneous natural fellowship. The local church is too institutionalised, too much run life a business and too tied to their denominational identities. I'm ready to hit the street and go into the homes with and of fellow believers.
Absolutely we are all flawed, but that isn't an excuse to excuse sin in the church. I could go on. Wish we could meet in person Glen.
    Blessings my brother.
    ❤🙏
P.S. Glen, I believe that God is about the sift the church institution and strengthen what remains and "burn up" the chaff.

Robert M and I paid a visit to JPUSA in early 80 something and you welcomed us, showed us the expanse of your ministry and both you and Wendy talked with us about your hopes & dreams... These have been realized in a large way IMHO. None of this is easy but all so necessary!

Wow. This chapter was absolutely awesome. I will go back and listen to it again. The church is so vital for Christ’s disciples. Thanks so very much Glenn for this message. Praise Jesus!

I have lived thru the Jesus movement and have seen a lot of things in my life.
Like the hippie movement supposedly all about peace and Love but I have seen that it wasn't all like that there were a lot of people there that had no part of that!

Regardless of the church's acceptance of long hair and all of that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is Matthew Mark Luke and John and the rest of the New testament we are to read it know it and obey it repentance of sin and all the teachings of the Gospel I see a lot of people mad at the church but you can't abandon the gospel that's the way to the Lord Jesus Christ that's the way to salvation so we are supposed to be all in one Accord with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is His life death burial and resurrection to reconcile sinful man to God the Father through His active and passive obedience. The Good News is what Jesus did .

They were there selling drugs for money and stuff like that!
I remember a guy that sold LSD and other things for a dealer, and would pick mushrooms from anywhere and sell them to whoever would buy them!!
I think he might have poisoned people?
    He was really paranoid!
And I saw him one time that his arms were all cut up and he was obviously beaten by his supplier because he didn't have money for him!
That was the other side of peace and Love!!!
In the Jesus movement it was really the same type of concept, people were out there trying to help as many people as they could hopping that they would see them again in a better place!
While those mean goats would infiltrate and cause problems!!
And I see it's all still going on?
I know ror sure that you can't take it with you when you go. But I also know that you can send it ahead of you!
The Bible says clearly that those who help the poor loan to the Lord and that he will repay them!!!
    10) Proverbs 19:17
So you can't take it with you?
But you can send it ahead of you!!!!

I use to go see your band in new castle delaware.. you .just judged why a person isolates and don't want to go to church ...that's the problem with this area that is a terrible misrepresentation of christ ...who isn't the problem...the mis representation is the believers theirself.........God represents himself better than anyone ....that's the best choice for me personally ..called common sense ... .not church followers and group one way ticket adviisers .... ...a long story short years have past ..and yes it is important to remain separated from believers to gather .. ..common sense will show that God does not need two or three gathered to be beside someone who seeks him ....I don't seek Christian view ..I grew up in it ...a twisted occult where tent revivals and hanging out with no one but Christian's was the only thing god accepted ..and abuse at home kept secret and shut mouths when we were kids .and they represented god ? everyone seems to want to represent god..when ...God represents himself ..no one else ....and plenty of twisted events as a teenager that made me always want to question everything ....it's following groups of people and their way of worship..and the angle used to direct gods attention ...God has a relationship differently with everyone ..if a person treats god like just a neighbor down the road ...then that will be the same approach god only gives them .....because everyone doesn't go to church for the same reasons. Why would I want to listen to someone tell me what God says. I'll find out myself in my walk with him where no one ever is ...each will die alone and no church member goes with any individual ...god is a personal friend ..I respect him...I don't respect alot of fake phony believers ..I would be a fool to think I'm gonna listen to them..and people who judge. . ..everyone eats something different every meal never all the same and clothing and attitude and character as well. No two are ever the same and no two Christian's are ever the same ..i find god in the things made simple ...not people telling me which way to go when god never said a thing ....don't ever forget the old testament ..when the prophet went to the other prophets house ..and the prophet asked him to eat with him at his table. .. And the prophet said. ...not so..for god told me in the day that I eat from anyone's table..i shall surely die..... . but after hearing this ..the prophet that bade him eat at his table ..said that God told him to tell the prophet that God wanted him to eat at his table. So the prophet listened and believed him. He trusted the prophet of God...no different than a church.. a pastor . . and after he ate...the prophet that fed him said today your carcus will be eaten in the street .. ...and it was...a lion god had sent to devour him. Because God told him don't and he was persuaded because of the other prophets saying what God said ...this is in kings... The old testament ... and holds true today. .god speaks to me through showing and revealing me things. .not by listening to another believer no different than the prophet who god used to set an example. I Never listen to anyone to lead me to what God is to them ...god is not to me sane as what he is to them ..or anyone else....god is my power. .....I walk with God alone ... Not salvation picture perfect people ...let god be true and everyone else made a lier

I think you bring a lot of truth in this statement Darla- but "the spirits of the prophets are subject unto the prophets." Including you and I and all of us. My simple question and balance for this is this: So shall I not listen to -you-?? Are you as well as all of us possible (every man/woman/person) liars? Indeed so. Be careful, be blessed. -Glenn
