Take A Journey With Us: 854 FNN AEC REGENT Around Chilwell Garage. 9th October 2021

Here we have a run around chilwell from the old Barton depot! The bus we are using 854 FNN Which is a 1960s AEC Regent 5 with body work done by northern counties this bus truly is a show bus to say the least.

These were very good and did the Nottingham Derby run,, I was garage staff but sometimes did the run on a Saturday in summer ,
I was finished when trent took over (thankfully)

What a fabulous video. I would have ridden on this bus and its classmates many times in the early 70s on my way through Long Eaton and back to school. I always loved the 60 and 63 Regents best of all. The Duple Leylands were nice, but the Northern Counties AECs were the best sounding and looking! The video captures the sound perfectly, exactly as I remember it. Once the single deckers came in increasing numbers the end seemed to come swiftly for these beauties, so it's great to see one in such nice condition and health. I moved away from Long Eaton many years ago but still go back several times a year to visit family. I'd love to ride on this bus again sometime. I can't ever remember being on a Barton bus that broke down, although I do remember one of this group cutting out at every bus stop and having to be restarted. Hope it made it back to Chilwell!

we will have a running day around June/July ish this year covid permitting. 854 is a usual runner so do not be afraid to come down to bag a journey on her! more information can be found on our website and Facebook page! we will also have more buses running including a midland general and NCT also visiting buses as well, Even if you do come down one weekend to the site just approach a member of our team and we will gladly take you around the site.
