Was there on the Saturday for several hours. Was packed during the first hour, prolly people trying to get door buster deals. I actually found a good deal on a somewhat rare G gauge train, and that was all I got but I’m happy with that.

I’ve been to this show many times over the years, always had a good time and made lots of purchases.
Now that I’ve retired and moved, I wish Greenberg would have a show in the Charlotte area.

Charlotte has grown quite a bit, that might be a good idea.

I am somewhat surprised there's no large show in Charlotte. There's one in Fort Mill, a few in Columbia SC (all small 1 day shows) and the Spencer Shops show. Anything else is a hike to drive to. Seems like there used to be one, maybe the pandemic killed it.
Before Train Shows, Inc. bought out the Great Train Show, I did one in Winston-Salem. They didn't advertise it well, 800 people in two days. Thank goodness I wasn't depending on it to pay for itself. A two-day show should be drawing 4000 to 10,000 people. The year before I did one of the Columbia SC shows and actually sold more. I mean how bad was it, on Sunday afternoon I bought two Hot Wheels redlines for like two bucks each from another seller - nice ones, later (1974-ish) but still something that should have vanished in the first hour or so.

there were big train shows in Charlotte in the ninety's including this one. after the 94 southeastern NMRA Charlotte and Atlanta doesn't get these shows no more. but their are clubs in every main cities in both states including Georgia too.

How come we have lots of shows all over the Southeast by the dealership of the hobby and big shows avoid the southeast too and this is not size but they call us to poor or hicks. Anthem call Southern railway Southern Pacific. I got a apologies on a live Train Tuesday over two weeks ago.

I had a huge HO train set when I was younger. I think now HO slot cars are a great replacement!

I wondered how many vendors I'd recognize and so far I've seen several, but ones I recognize more from Springfield than any of the ones I do. Have considered setting up at this show but it's about a 4 hour drive for me. Plus I've noticed the bigger the show the less I sell figured by dollars per attendee, it's harder to compete with so much more stuff.

I guess there is always a trade off in every situation. It can be hard on the buyer side too since there is so much to decide on.

You go to a train sho nd you video istrribl. You sweep from one thing to another and back and the vieer really gets to ee nothing. Panning right to left should be done slowly so the viewer does nt get seasick. Slow down when to sweep a table. . You cannot expect to show everything at a show. Go slowly and w will all see more.
