The wooden flute was used during Native American courtship back in the day (and still to this day). The man would go to the river where the woman would be and he would play the flute for her. If she liked him, she would follow the tune of the flute. Never would the man get too close out of respect, it was always the choice of the woman and was respected by the man. Thank you for sharing this beautiful music today 💚 Epetu wasteh` yuhan (have a good day) 💚
This guy is so percussively precise that he's able to make a sort of smooth flow with accents, and it really sounds "as one" (so to speak) with the flutist, who is also a true artist. This whole thing is very well done, IMHO.
This tickled my ears in a way that ASMR does, I have ADHD and find it hard to find sounds that makes my brain melt in a most pleasant way. This honestly felt like honey in my ears it was so smooth!
This takes me to a place that reminds me of the great significance of the passage of time if we really think about it there is great significance of the passage of time…
Waiting to see more of these! Great Audio Quality 🙏 I would have liked some smoke, light fire sound here and then as well next to the soft water well sound 🔥
Well.... a moment in ancient nature and the bonding of two beautiful instruments. The inclusion of a small fire adds to the setting. See the smoke come to you casting its spell 4:05 during the most intriguing passage.
Yes, the smoke on that part seems is reflecting the energy we played and our connection, is like the nature is listening and responding. Nice that you've notice it :)
Found these types of flute not to long ago myself, and when i did i wished i had 4 arms so i could do both. Still gonna get one sometime though :D Amazing job guys!
I love this combination also, the native american flute and the handpan sound great together. The 4 or more hands problem I solved with a minimum recording gear and I can make simple and nice mixing with more instruments. But it's different when we connect each other in live playing, especially in unique moments of musical improvisation, like in this video.
@@artaverde9131 Yeah that's more so what i was getting at :D not to tech savvy myself. Live is my preference. Nothing beats the flow of emotion in the moment, pouring through an instrument, IMO. Maybe Elon can hook us up in the future with some more arms :D
@ArtaVerde I too am a flute player, and know what you mean. Try finding some ambient to mix in which will compliment the context, and that will fill the need for some of the reverb. There is a beauty in the spirit of the instrument. Listen for it.
Msuic is very subjective art for the listener. You may think this recording has too much reverb and another will think its just the right anount. It is very difficult to record acoustic instruments in an open air environment. First, one must use the correct microphones. Secondly their placements are critical. In a field or forest setting such the musicians are in this video , the sounds escape the instruments and have no reflection surfaces to provide reverb ( which of course is a form of delay) One has to use multiple mics set at varying distances starting with right at the instruments, and them locating others at intervals away from them. Its an experimental process to hear what works best for the desired overall ambience. Certain settings will provide what is sought. i.e. abandoned cooling tower or concrete grain silo for massive delay/ reverb. Steep rock walled canyon for subtle long delay times. Natural Ambience is a delicate effect to record. Finally the amount of ambient effect whether delay or small / large room etc is often easier to dial in using outboard or plugin effects. For the musician / producer Its knowing how much one adds and how much to leave out is thier choice. Critiques are respected opinions, but remember the piece is their creation, not yours.
you might enjoy this handpan-native american flute song also

Beautiful playing! What handpan scale is pairing with this flute? Low F pygmy? They sound beautiful.

Kudos. I would back off the reverb on the flute in the natural surroundings. A little goes a long way
I know what you mean, but can't help with the reverb on the native flute, sounds too good :)
