OMG! This really helped me. I am a dad homeschooling my 10th grade daughter. We use GC. But until now the assignments were graded with a simple 0-100 grade. I had no idea of the benefits of this feature. I can now create a detailed assignment with expectations. It will help her understand exactly what I want even though we verbally review each assignment before we get started. Thank you!!

So glad this will help you more effectively support at home. It's definitely something many of us have had to pick up and as a dad of two myself I have nothing but respect for what parents have been providing around the world! You are a gem, and your daughter will never forget the effort, love and time you've poured into her education.

@@FlippedClassroomTutorials Thank you for your words of support. We are doing a unit on whale migration. Not only will this help with her report, but we are also taking the whale watching trip this weekend for which she will have a slide show of pictures she will be taking.

That's amazing! We've not had the chance to see whales in real life but my boys absolutely love the book Cosmos the curious Whale by Gale Clarke.

Do you know if it's possible to put the point values as percentages rather than real numbers? So that if you change a point value of an assignment from say 15 to 20 points, the rubric scales up? (Or so that you can use the same rubric for different assignments with different point values without having to do extra math?)
Also, I've noticed that sometimes Google won't accept certain values for the points; like sometimes if I enter a point value of (for a random example) 2.3, it doesn't stick, but changes to 2.29, which doesn't really matter numerically but confuses kids. Any idea what's up with this?
    Thanks!

Once again.Thank you very much! I have one question though: is it possible to create and use a self assessment rubric for the students themselves? Thanks in advanced!

Excellent presentation as usual. The ministry of education uses many of your videos in teacher training workshops.

Worth noting you can also have weighted criteria. For example, the research element can be out of 10 but the spelling is only out of 5. Or allocate 10 points for overall effort and 5 marks for presentation. This means the less able children who may have poor spelling or presentation but tried hard will get a fair grade.

Very correct! It's all about making sure you create a useful feedback loop and don't just assign grades for the sake of marks. Learning should be at the centre of everything. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it.
