Just finished watching "Ghost Stories" i liked it to an extent i hadn't expected to. Zoya Akhtar's story was the most straight forward and upto the point...looked more like an attempt to recreate a classic design of the story that we, at some point, have been listening to all our childhood, using a modern platform...but i must say...it was very well executed. Anurag Kashyap, needless to say, is one of the finest directors out there in bollywood...the story, i felt was more like a metaphorically dark and thrilling rather than a horror one....Dibakar Banarjee's story, in my opinion, took the title so far...it was thrilling, it had a dark atmosphere, a lot of tension...and most importantly, had the highest degree of grip being engagged in the story...the strongest point regarding Banarjee's story, what i felt was that a viewer could actually feel himself locked in that villiage...so the tension in the story was the best ingredient and that seems to have worked perfectly...everything was perfectly blended..EXCEPT the creature they created looked odd to me...could've gone with a vamp story or a zombie...but maybe they thought of creating their own version of creepy creature that took the fear away for a second...lol. And about Karan Johar...kya hi mai bolu?? lol...i mean...isn't it ironically funny how this man managed to fit all the posh elements even in such a short HORROR movie? And at the top of everything he also managed to make all those posh elements, all those fake money shits and super expensive bridal suits and all that bullshits (which are not even the ingrediants for the horror genre), shout louder than the actual story itself?? I mean maaannn..how do you do that?? lol

Just finished watching and acc to me
1) 3rd story by Dibaker Bannerjee was the best and all the actors were commendable along with the storyline being original and fear inducing
2) 2nd by Anurag Kashyap was gritty and more of a gore than horror but had a commendable storyline
3) 1st story by Zoya Akhtar was alright and Jahnvi actually performed better contrary to my expectations. Rest , Surekha Sikri was amazing as usual.
4) Lastly Karan Johar's story in which only Mrunal performed in and unexaggerated manner but the plot was dud. Overall, a cringefest

So nice Janhvi is doing a project like this.. was expecting typical starkid masala/commercial movies from her.. but a Netflix project with Zoya 😮. Damn cool
Doesn't mean she is deserving of a project like this. Even if you give a challenging character which requires strong acting chops to a weak actor if they are clearly not capable of emoting and conveying what the character is feeling it destroys the entire film/project and stops the film from being great which it could have been with great capable actors. That's why huge budget movies like Kalank and Paanipat also bombed. Many of those Oscar movies might not have been as critically acclaimed if they cast weak actors who could not deliver and properly emote.
Nikita Mohan that’s the producers concern, not mine. I trust Zoya Akhtar and Surekha Sikri’s judgment enough to watch this 👌🏽. Especially Zoya. She always weeds out the good ones.
