Just finished rewatching this, and oh my goodness. This truly is fantastic, a masterpiece even. The editing really tied it all together, the effects combined with your distinct animation style result in the perfect episode.
Woah! This was cool as hell! Definitely my favorite animated episode to a Ninjago series I’ve ever seen! Amazing job with the editing, the writing, the voice acting, and the animation! it all fits so well and it’s GREAT!
Wonderful. Very unique. Each and very aspect has emotion. The animation was fluid and was very realistic, I would say this may be your best. Your editing is always solid, especially with those blender fire creations. The facial expression was well done as always. And that shot with the graveyard was something was so cinematic. Speaking of cinematic, the direction at the end was so smooth. The music came in (Attack on Titan? Ayo?), the voices, the screaming, everything built up so well till the end point. The voice acting was done so well by everybody, especially by you Agwens, that screaming/laugh you did was perfect. F in the chat for your throat. Now on to the episode-The first scene with kid Kai and dead nya was so chilling. That moment where he looked at her burned body, I legit didn’t expect that and it for sure jump scared me. The interactions between the Soul reaper and Kai was so fun too see. It’s crazy how the Soul reaper (who I expected just to be another custom villain) is a god damn psychopath. Then the scene with Skylor, very much like anime with those leaves falling with that cinematography. Then it was another jump scare for me when The soul reaper clapped Skylor, I should have seen it coming, but it was so sudden and so well made, man..(The Soul reaper after killing Skylor was like no bches?) then came the best part of this entire episode. I love how The Soul reaper gave Kai *emotional damage*, then that scene where Kai starts to hear all those voices man, I could really feel the intensity. It went on further and further and further (Hats off to all those voice actors in that scene, the editing made it even better). Then we got to see Fury of fire, I think? It was very different from the trailer and a lot more spookier. “Let me show you a world in which you remain the same”, very deep. Zeal definitely killed it. The line got faster and faster and build up to the point where it was just………damn. Now Kai Yeager will destroy the worlds 80% popu-no, ahem 100% population. Lmao, it fit very well with that Attack On Titan soundtrack. Then that scene where Kai gets nuked. Ahem, I mean becomes a titan shifter (Fits very well with that Yellow lightning). I loved how Kai changed so fast during the episode, and the amazing writing makes this look not even weird. It’s so crazy how well this is made. I can’t imagine how look this took to write, create, animate, edit. But in the end, it’s surely worth it. I have seen many series with a similar point, but this one shows the best. It’s so mind blowing how in the starting of the episode, Kai is just a boy who wants to protect, but in the end he’s a villain who just wants to destroy. If you look at this closely, we can kind of see why Kai’s doing this, so it’s not very right to call him a villain. That scene where blood sheds over him and he repeats “damn it, damn it”…I got some good chills there. Then that scene with the mec-no TITAN. It was so well edited and you could really feel the tension. I can’t wait for that TITAN fight scene, very excited to see how you’ll pull that off. I know it will be surely great. (The opening foreshadowed this) I can’t wait to see how Lloyd and Gin will play out with this. In conclusion, this was very well made. Everything was so well fitted. And each and every aspect had a whole emotion behind it. And the visuals made is 100 times better. This is very underrated. Stories like these should be promoted more, especially in the Ninjago fanbase. It’s very unique. I can see you dedicated everything into this, the effort and everything was so good. Good job Agwens.
