Concentration on Strikers is THE most underrated stat. Your striker can get isolated when you are not controlling possession and/or you are playing counter attack, in that situation you need a striker with concentration to remain focused to capitalise on defensive mistakes, beat the offside trap and be ready to take that one chance that might come his way. Concentration and Composure in real life are the difference between an average striker and a world class striker and its pretty much the same on FM.
@@schlauchflicker I read an article doing regressive analysis on how attributes correlate with goals with a selection of finishing traits. A surprising number of them had positive correlation with concentration. Basically, if you have finishing traits on your strikers (as you should), concentration and strength are much more important than most people give it credit for.
I have a gigantic winger with average to poor attributes in everything yet he has 18 strength and 20 heading and he scores 20+ headed goals alone from the wing benching my 200 million superstar.

But he absolutely dominated the games he played because the opposition had no way of stopping him. I am certain jumping reach, if higher than the opponents, is the most powerful stat, and wtm is the position that utilizes it best offensively. Difference between 7 and 10 might not be important at all. And sometimes, the difference between 19 and 20 might not matter (you dominate everyone regardless). But going from being about even with someone to dominating them in the air, is incredible.
@@tamatama5181 I do. Mandzukic is great. But it is Jostein Flo that is the real WTM in my heart. He was a mediocre, at best, striker that played AMR for the Norwegian national team in the 90's. A team that utilized counters, zonal marking, and statistics (now, standard, then revolutionary) to bring a fairly bad footballing nation to high FIFA rankings. Topping out at number 2. Thanks for taking a look at my selection(the arezo vs antunes as AF) hit the nail on the head where I was struggling to weigh up arezo being more well rounded vs Antunes having targeted stats so high. Actually managed to scrape through as league winners that season with those two alternating as back ups to Daka. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts
Nice one Zee, for me First decision I'd choose Vlasic for the age have a detrimental effect on speed which is quite important for the role otherwise Origi would win. In the second decision i learnt that a good player can perform worse than if he is not natural in the position , some hidden attributes like consistency or he has a PPM that doesnt go with the role for example if Jimenez has run down the center/cuts inside PPM he will perform worse as a winger. also, two footed players can shine better in some roles than a single footed players. Third choice I'd go with Rudolf for the leadership, having a player with a good leadership in every line appears to have a good effect on the other players performance and composure/mood during the match, i notice less likely complacent/apprehensive swings when i have a good leaders.
Finishing seems to be the most fake stat of them all. I've got a guy with 9 finishing who is a Haaland level goalscorer in the box. I think the dude actually has 8 composure aswell..... Had to put him in due to injuries and he's never left the team! Dunno how this stuff works 🤣 If they play well, stats don't matter.
Finishing is how likely you are to score a hard chance. If all their other attributes are allowing them to get easy chances they don't need finishing to be high in order to score many, many goals
@@edwardking9359 I guessed that. The boy I have has good dribbling and is decent in the air but that's it. Balanced personality. He's a real dude. James Graham, plays for Rangers reserves in the SPL. An off topic question for you Mr. Zealand. I fully understand if you ignore this post. You might have better things to do with your time. On to my question: Could you, either here directly, and/or in a future video, give some guidance regarding when and how you should tweak/change your tactics? And related to this, when you should and shouldn't listen to advice from the assistant manager? For example his pre match tactical advice. I know that you have made a couple of videos in the past that partially touch on this, I have watched them several times. But I would love it with some more in depth coverage. Specific example and the reason I bring up these questions: I currently struggle in my Sunderland save (early in season one, November or so). I never tweak my tactics and I seldomly switch tactics for more than 1-2 matches, the latter just to try and halt a bad run. I never listen to advice from my assistant manager. I never use match analysis etc. I basically enjoy playing the game like that. I don't like spending time on tactics. I prefer to hand most things over to the staff and play a quick game. And besides, I don't want to do too well, I don't want the game to be too easy. So I deliberately restrict myself in order to have realistic results or mildly overachieving at most. However, I am on a bad run in my save. Perhaps 10 points from the last 8-9 games or so. Very bad for a promotion chasing side. Interestingly there seems to be a pattern. In the match analysis section I see that it is adviced to "work ball into the box" (dark red negative regarding this). I almost never score from long shots, and the side has a lot of wayward longshots in most matches. That might be the prime example regarding that I should possibly listen to the assistant manager who for months have been telling me to work the ball into the box. That, however, brings up a dilemma. When to listen to the ass man, and when not to? As mentioned, I prefer to tweak as little as possible. Partially to play quickly and save time, partially in order to not be too succesfull. But this current save is too much the opposite, I have obviously hit a brick wall due to rigid tactical tactics. And it made me contemplate if I should sort of implement a couple of basic rules as to when to make an exception and tweak my tactics, by picking up certain advice from the ass man, or by looking at match analysis (last 5 matches) or whatever. My main tactics is a 4-2-3-1 Gegenpress by the way. The defauld AI type, chosen due to recommendation from the ass man. Thanks a lot for an all round great channel by the way.
