I worked on an indie film back in the day in 2004, which Chris D'Elia wrote, produced, directed, and was lead actor. This was before he was a successful and well-known standup. In between takes on the shoot, I noticed he was constantly checking himself out in the mirror: running fingers through his hair, flexing his biceps, and turning his body back 'n forth in that model/body builder way; just admiring his reflection like he was God's gift to women. "Wow. What a self-absorbed narcissist," I thought to myself. He would always have to be the center of attention throughout this production, cracking jokes and capping on crew members, just to feed his ego. And this film that D'Elia wrote and starred in is about his character getting out of prison, his childhood friend taking him in until he can get back on his feet, and then summarily fu€king his best friend's wife. So when all of these accusations and revelations dropped in 2020, none of it surprised me.
