Anyway, thank you so very much for what I wil call the most enjoyable almost-random-click of the second half of 2019.
I got chills and teared up.
Thanks for that thoughtful comment that represents my thinking and feeling too. I found this music after a healing session which I was lead to experience more feelings in my heart..well if this is an indication of what happens when I do, I'm all ears and I'm excited!
From a 2021 perspective this music make SOOO much sense. And is to me sooooo welcome.
They came to my university last year, and when they played their first song nearly jumped out of my skin!
Thank you so much for this recording. It was the first time I heard them and I was stunned by the playful complexity of their music.
These days they are one of the bands closest to my heart and it's all thanks to this.
At last I’m going to see them live in London tomorrow night (20 January 2022).
Postscript: it was possibly the best gig I have ever been to, which considering I have seen a great many world class acts (Led Zep, the Floyd, Yes, Genesis etc.) I am genuinely astounded by how good DB are live! ❤️
Magnificent, stunning, Real!
Thank you!!
These folks are truly great. I am really surprised at how much some of the female vocal elements sound like Native American music. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with the world...
Who Isn't Surprised
This the region where most of the First Peoples of the Americas are from; when they crossed the Siberian land bridge 30,000 years ago. The proto Sythian cultures of Mongolia.
@@thothmysteryseeker1126 The Well Actually Guy says: "Well, actually, a couple thousand miles west of those folks."
It's easy to overdo connections. I'm satisfied to say that most roots music and folk music is in touch with aspects of being human that ALL societies share and resonate to.
Wonderful music and even though this concert took place a few years back. It could be a homage to Ukraine to carry on listening to it now.
All my love to you Ukrainian people in these very difficult times.
Can't beat a good cello, who needs synthesisers , Folk and a mingus style rhythm, Wonderful !
These folks are wonderful - so talented; such a unique and exciting sound!!!
what a fusion of instruments, voices, music styles... wowwww beautiful !!! congrats for making completely unique music DakhaBrakha big uppp
I've had the privilege of seeing these guys live THREE TIMES! Still the best live act I've ever seen.
Very unique sounds they have. Quality uploads as always, NPR.
This is so good ... love music that makes me feel & yet haven't a clue to what they are saying ... music is Universal. Love everything about them.
This is like hearing the B-52's for the first time, in another dimension. Wonderful.
I totally get that 😁
I’m obsessed with this. Obsessed with them. Immediately after watching this the first time, I ordered two of their CDs.
Know that feeling .If I like a band I Allways buy their albums.rather than free downloads .support your favourite bands period
That was a good idea, well done! Don't be afraid to give a shot also to their old stuff... it's rough but if you think you'll like it, you'll definitely love it
I don't understand a single word and yet I love this so much.
Sometimes that's better! There are a bunch of songs where I'm down with the music, but the whole experience was destroyed by rock stupid lyrics. No danger of that when you don't know the language.
Si... hahaha pero la música es un lenguaje que el alma entiende solo hay que dejar que haga magia en nosotros
Ha, I'm from Ukraine, but I do not know what they sing either, the words are so vague that even they do not understand me as a native speaker.
I usually don't understand a single word when music is performed in English. LOL
But I adore this!
It wasn't about words in the beginning anyway. It was all about the sounds that rhyme and trance.
In a perfect world beauty and creative genius would annihilate destructive stupidity every time. Maybe it still will. You're wonderful, DakhaBrakha❤❤❤. Bless you!
What a group! Inspiring and creative to the max. Ukraine never stops surprising me.
