Super helpful, thank you. Manual is crap. Wasted so much time trying to figure out what oil. Going to go ahead with the 10w-40 thanks to your comment replies.
I had written quite a little bit on this based on something I heard. I finally got a reply back back from ExtremePowerUS regarding the oil to use on these, and he just said any regular oil from 20 to 40 weight. Gee I hope the heavy duty Shell Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic for diesels does not prove to be too much. They should really have explained all that in depth in their Owner's Manual, but it wasn't even mentioned.
LOL! I have looked at some reviewers on Ebay for this machine and at least a couple claimed they used light machine oil. That had me baffled, as I would not use such in a machine like this. The reviews are great on this unit and Ebay sells them cheaper than Amazon, plus they accept PayPal. I ordered 2 different types of spades for it. I have an old broken tree stump in my back yard which the inspectors claim can't be taken out with a stump grinder, as an electric power line runs beneath it and the roots have entwined in that line. I have the area marked and will use mine to remove roots and later I will chop the stump flat and use a heavy duty root killer to kill the thing so it can be removed. I don't know if synthetic oil works well for this machine or not. I am hoping I can use this without it killing my shoulders, as I have bad arthritis. The manual is often the worse bitch about this machine in all the reviews. The print is way to small for me, so I will have to get my magnifier to even begin reading it. We have had a couple of major thunderstorms here for the past 2 days and I just got mine delivered today, so I have not had a chance to use it, yet. The soil here is caliche and as hard as cement, even after a heavy rain. This video sure helps me a lot as to what to expect. I have a heavy duty extension cord to try out in using this machine, too.
@@a1930ford I have seen people use just regular 30 weight oil, and I am sure that will keep the metal good enough, but if you really want to protect your metal, you want to run a full synthetic. Seven years later and you’re still getting hits on this video because the included instructions are so, so bad. I couldn’t figure out how much or what type of oil to add. I couldn't find anything specific for a n electric demo hammer so I ended up using pneumatic tool oil.
I have the same hammer drill that I purchased from Amazon. My instruction sheet called it a HYAT ET1108-110v Hammer Drill-65mm. The instructions recommended (one liter) of Shell Rotella #40 engine oil. My local TSC (Tractor Supply Co) has the gallon jug on sale for $14.99 at the time of my post.

I am looking for a tool to hammer metal and think this might work by mounting it vertically like a drill press. Is there a lot of vibration? Does the bit need to be in contact with the object to engage the motor? How often does it need oil? Five minutes running time, ten?

Thanks for the video and showing the steps when first getting the tool. I must say the provided manual is “crap” and does not explain AT ALL very well where or how to feed the oil into it. The manual actually points to removing the cap where carbon brush is located and does not even mention anything about unscrewing the oil window as to where to feed it oil. I must also warn those that get one, careful with removing the carbon brush screw and screwing back in, it’s a little tricky and hard to seat the brush and spring before screwing the cap back on. Hi, bro. I just bought a 2800w Makute demo hammer, looking for clear instructions everywhere till I finally came across your video. It's really more useful than the manual. Should I use a 15w40 diesel engine oil? Or something below that? I can see that the video is 7 years old so hopefully you're still around 😅
How much does it weigh? I looked these up and I think it said unit weight was 45 pounds. Is it a 35 pound demo hammer? Is The 45 pounds the weight of hammer plus case and bits?
I just ordered one of these yesterday. I've rented the same size demo hammer from Home Depot and they apply grease to the chisels "bits" do you need grease the bits? (The shank end that goes in the demo hammer) Thanks!
Wyatt's Dad make sure you do grease the the chisels, the grease will keep it from rusting and it helps for lubrication when the chisel is causing friction while working
I wanted to ask you if you think this demo hammer will be good for breaking concrete in a rotted out fence post hole? So instead of digging them out I want to be able to just put the chisel on the concrete and bust it out. And pull out pieces. I figured it should be way faster than digging them out. Anyways that's my plan for mine when I get it. Do you feel it will work for that?
it will definitely work I used to Shovelhead in the holes for my back fence posts work great and I can't wait to see your project that you get to work with that a demolition hammer
That Demolition Hammer only less than $200? Wow! I want to get a rotary hammer and was looking at the Bosch rotary hammer rh540m that has 6.1 pounds of blow force for $400 or the Milwaukee 2 inch rotary hammer that has 19.1 pounds of blow force that would cost more than $800 dollars. All I want to do is use one to drill holes in the ground to place 4 x 4 fence posts where the soil has packed rock in the ground. So would you recommend that Demolition Hammer you have and for the price is amazing. How longs does that Demolition Hammer last?
Well Tony I've had my demolition hammer now 2 years and I still don't have any problems with it I've only had to replace one spike because it worn down but do I recommend it yes for a under $200 absolutely for what we do around our home is perfect
Well Luis I paid $150 through Amazon when I bought it and it has lasted so long I have no issues with it today I want to replace one of the the hammer bits but other than that it's done wonders long as you take care of it thank you for taking the time to watch my videos thumbs up why not and not a problem more than welcome
Ok, thank you very much for the info and for taking the time to answer my question, of course I'll give you thumbs up on your videos and thank you for helping others with your videos.👍👍
Renaldo Nicholson just a very small amount but every time you use it you must grease it just a little bit so the blade doesn't get too hot against hammer
I just got an Xtremepowerus 2200w from amazon today that looks identical to yours, so I am grateful for your videos! Mine does not indicate amperage, ANYWHERE, but the cord has a 15A plug. Did yours operate ok on a 15A receptacle?
Don Olson Don I'm grateful that you got you one you're going to enjoy it as much as I have and yes it operates just fine on a 15 amp cord I use a 12 amp construction cord for my jobs but I don't have any issues with it it runs great just understand that you may have to get new bits for it after about 6 months of heavy use but other than that good luck with it thank you again for taking the time to watch my videos I'm glad I can help
If you look in Amazon I don't know what the price is now when I bought mine mine was $150 Xtreme machines the one that I have they sent me from that same business was a Stark 2400
Thank you for the great review especially with the shovel because I was thinking about getting one. Do you think the shovel will break through dense bamboo roots even though the shovel edge is dull?
Thanks so much for making and posting this video. I just got this same one on Amazon, and had NO CLUE how to use it until now. I have a bottle of electric chainsaw bar and chain oil from Walmart. It's 30WT. Can I use this in my jackhammer??? Also, it came with 2 grounding pins? On the cord it says to use them. Did you have to do that with yours?
First let me thank you for taking the time to watch my video second of all the oil that I use is the only one I use is in my video and I have bought other attachments that I replaced after using the spikes and the Chisel they will allow you to use different models and makes as long as they're in the same manufacturer
@dimitriosskouros1502 Unfortunately, when I brought the tool, there wasn't any information in the manual about the oil. I'm glad they have provided the oil information in the manual.
Hi, thanks for the video! I have this model. Sometimes when I press the trigger, I hear it working, but there is a delay before it really starts hammering hard. It seems after watching your videos this is normal?
I just got an XtremePower 2200w electric jack hammer similar looking to the one you have except the brand name. As I opened the cardboard box that the jack hammer and carrying case comes in, I found the box was soaked with oil at one end. I opened the carrying case that the jack hammer comes in and one end was also soaked in oil. I found out where the oil was coming from, then end of the jack hammer where you attach the tools into. Did your jack hammer come soaked in oil? I got a reply from Xtremepower customer service telling me that it was common for the oil to leak out during shipment, and to add more oil. They said if it continued to leak oil to return the jack hammer for replacement or refund. They also said to use 30 weight oil. I'm going to put 15w-40 in it and see if it all leaks out again. You would think that they would tell you this stuff in the instruction manuals, but they don't, the manuals are cheap and worthless.

ZOMBIEKING779 do have any problem with the spike or the chisel blade with the locking device if so need to return the equipment back or if not the it might the shovel isnt the right one for this jackhammer
Is The 45 pounds the weight of hammer plus case and bits?
hi, can you tell me how long hammer without chisel including handle, thank you.
Alex Dmitrieve roughly around 30 in
what kind of oil
what kind of oil you use
30 w non detergent engine oil
So regular 30w motor oil?
@@paulhead non detergent 30w
Just received my hammer and your video was very informative. Do you think Miracle oil that is used in air tolls would be good for this hammer?
Not thick enough to keep the Hammer working correctly
@@wolvesr4ever38 Thank you - what should we be using?
Use 30 weight non detergent oil and that would be perfect
@@wolvesr4ever38 Wonderful, thank you
I'm glad I'm help a fellow DIYers
Sir how is the product ....is it lasting good ...?
Well to answer your question so far that the equipment has worked for the last two years without problems
I just ordered one of these yesterday. I've rented the same size demo hammer from Home Depot and they apply grease to the chisels "bits" do you need grease the bits? (The shank end that goes in the demo hammer)
Thanks!
Thank You Wolversr4ever38. I am definetly going to order one next week.
@@tonymadera3603 I'm glad I could help

How do I know if the earth wire is connected?
Renaldo Nicholson if you don't get shocked while working the piece of equipment then you know your Earth wire is grounded and connected
wolvesr4ever38 ok can I use oil on the bits or I have to use grease?
Renaldo Nicholson you only use oil in the machine itself you have to use grease for the blts
What amount of grease should I use on the bit itself? It's my first time owning one
Renaldo Nicholson just a very small amount but every time you use it you must grease it just a little bit so the blade doesn't get too hot against hammer
good educational video...
Carl thank you I am glad I can help
What type of oil ????

Whats the battery life on this jack hammer
Timmy there is no battery, the demolition Hammer at all that's a electric
Hey Don, when you got your jack hammer did it leak oil during shipment to you. Mine leaked all the oil out of it. What a mess?
Nice. Thank you

Well thank you for taking the time to watch my video I'm glad I could help you and you're more than welcome
Great video but your shoes don't match your pants.
You're the 1st person that got that lol
The manual sayw 15/40 oil.
That happens w/ all jackhammers.
I really appreciate your very informative video, the manual is garbage,Thanks

My jackhammer very hitting how to Repair
I agree that why I created my videos on the jackhammer
