Love how easy he talks it up to be. I am a Senior in Computer Science and haven't even been able to get an interview for an internship let alone a job.
Thank you for the CV tips, especially the part about how you should structure your previous projects on your CV. I was told my CV was really good and now I'm doing a placement at Bloomberg in London!
LeetCode was Tough! I’m a second year college student. Taking a CS algorithm’s class. It’s been difficult to say the least. I’d recommend doing LeetCode like he said. Sticking with it. Maybe watching RUclips videos and watching step by step how to do algorithm’s. It’s going to be on interviews for sure, and you’ll have classes like I’m taking. So get that head start and become a master at the.
Usually if I see a leetcode test, I automatically ask the interviewer if they have any product that uses such algorithms or data structures. If I don't get a straight "yes", I know the interview is shit and the interviewer came unprepared and just threw at me some random leetcode problem that he found on the interwebz, instead of actually giving me one of the technical problems that you might encounter on their actual projects.
Thanks for the tips. I’m about to join university this fall. Apart from the great video I was also paying attention to your communication skills and those open hand gestures.
Where did you go guy? This video was really really good but now it looks like you do not post! Please start posting again and I am sure you will be one of the those successful youtubers in no time. Thanks for the video again!!!
Applied to 100 internships since december. Went to career services, updated resume 4 times its now approved from career services and my family. Github projects relevant courses rising senior never got a single offer. Only got 4 interviews no offers
I’m in my 3rd year of my computer science degree and have been applying to internships. Have only had 2 interviews and got rejected by both. It can feel pretty demotivating at times. Now I’m looking into cold emailing. Hope it works!
Yeah!! I am a high school student, taking Harvard Uni's CS50 classes on edx. Do you think I can apply for internships living outside US ?? Thanks for the video!! It was quite good !!
@@chriscodes2085 I go to Uni of Maryland (Bitcamp, hackUMBC,Technica), but I am a MLH Coach so I travel to plenty of hackathons throughout the season...so let me know the next MLH hackathon you will be attending :)
+Anuhya Challagundla oh awesome! I might not be going back to school in the fall if I get a full time return offer from Facebook. That’s the goal! But I still want to attend one more hackathon. Any recommendations?
@@chriscodes2085 ahh that is awesome, well if not an MLH hackathon hopefully F8 might be the move. Either way, do let me know what your next hackathon might be :) and I would love to see a day in the life of a facebook intern by you
@@sirens367 hey I'm moving to london for uni soon and I wanna get as involved as possible to make as many connections as I can. If you'd like to be in touch, you can drop your ig or something :)
@@xP0STx Yeahh I have had 1.5 years of Math intensive, logic and programming courses (now 4th semester courses before professional courses), and I am just now starting to work on projects for my courses. For the whole 1.5 years I have been at university, I've only been able to complete one project which obviously isn't enough to put on a website. A majority of freshman are less fortunate and don't even take a single programming course until the second semester, and on top of that they only learn up to file handling and file manipulation (nothing with structs or algorithms because those are saved for later courses). This is just not enough knowledge to be able to do a lot with in that period of time unless they go out of their way to learn more about one language and to start some big project they can put on their resume or that is worthy of having a website. If you really look at the courses I've taken, you'll realize that a basically a whole semester and a half worth of courses were wasted on prereqs which weren't related to mathematics or programming at all... So when I say 1.5 years of college experience I mean only 1 year. I honestly think better advice is to have a github, know how to use it. Know about different techniques such as Agile (Scrum) and their structure. Set up a linkedin and upload a resume there. That sort of thing, and to think that most of these videos don't even have this... hundreds of internship help vids that are 10+ minutes that have maybe one of these topics but not all of what is needed. Sure, advice on internships is good but I think it's best to give people a means of uploading and sharing everything about themselves academically and to let companies know that it will be easy to integrate them as they are familiar with the industry standards that the company wants people to be familiar with. ty for the reply! love the advice
So all in all this video was pretty good... Just felt like he was giving too much credit to freshman students lol. Most just don't have projects or programming knowledge at all.
Unless you apply for a top 10 company ( to be read "Top 10 in your country or even world wide" ) internship, don't sweat it. Create your own LLC, hire yourself, you're now an intern. Congrats! Now start learning, because if you want money, nobody will give two shits what your title is, so get to work :))

why didn’t anyone tell me about this channel!!! thank you for this useful video!!

I actually find leetcode easier than projects
For projects I’m like wtf am I going to create that isn’t redundant and done a million times before

What level of difficulty on Leetcode do you think is asked on the internship interview? Medium or hard?
love the vid you motivate me !

Freshman what? In college? No kid is going to have projects and a website in their first year of college. Highly doubt it.
Unless they’re already experienced in coding and they have actual use for a website

Thank you❤
How complex do my projects have to be?
What about being a really good competitive programmer???Isn't it a very good alternative to projects??
If I have a personal website should I put that on my resume along with my github or just the website?
