    Hey pal great vid , the transalp seemed to do very well on the dirt roads, very impressive, I took one from the dealer here in Dublin last week for an 90 min test ride , f,,kin loved it , think I’ll have to have one 👍👏🙋🏻‍♂️

      Had a play on a few bikes but the transalp fits the bill, Good on road and great off-road once you dial it in, Get some Michelin anakee wilds if you plan on lots of dirt and some crash protection🔑
      You won’t be disappointed mate the power is amazing, Thank you the comment and that you liked the video, let’s me know I’m doing the the right thing🤝

      Thanks Noel, I don’t think the scratches are to noticeable yet, When it does get to rough a sticker kit may come in play, I did see a old school camel smokes kit 😊
      Next month of so mate we should organise something, Thank you the comments maté appreciated 🔑

    Your Transalp is a good looking bike especially in that colour. Don't mind the look of the BMW either. A couple of good choices for you two. The roads you travelled are appealing and I have wondered previously what sought of condition the Comboyne rd was in, so now I know thanks to you guys. Regarding the drop, the first time I rode my 500X on gravel I did the same thing only I had fitted crash bars prior so no damage to the bike at all. I've been told it was because I was watching the gutter rather than where I wanted to go and on reflection, they were right. Did you trade the 500X ?

    • @JimmyHutchison
      @JimmyHutchison  Год назад

      Hey Jeff , I sold the 500x to someone that is local to me and will be going on a ride with soon, I decided to try the Transalp750 and happy I did,
      The ride was fairly good except a lot of random parts cut out and filled with lose gravel,
      We should be doing some more rides together soon, Hope you liking the channel Jimmy Hutchison

      Came stock with metzler Karoo street, There good but would definitely go the Michelin anakee wilds if I was doing lots of dirt roads👍

      @@JimmyHutchison Its a bit of a catch 22 situation getting full off-road tyres as if the tar seal is wet on the way your risk of falling is transferred to the tar seal. I have the 2009 Transalp which I have owned for 12 years and am hoping to demo the new one soon. I am hoping it will have better brakes than my model but if not I will likely keep my bike or see how the opposition including the BMW you were riding with compares. I have demoed an Africa Twin about 5 years ago and decided to stick with my Transalp. I have even demoed a BMW 1200GS but despite the crazy price difference that did nothing for me.

      @@petercreagh8797 I can tell you from experience that the BMW is top heavy. The Transalp feels like it's 40kgs lighter. I just sold my F series BMW and bought the Transalp. As an added bonus it will be way more reliable than the BMW. Cheaper to service and hopefully the Honda dealer network is less incompetent than their BMW counterparts. I had one BMW dealer, on two separate occasions not put the bike back together properly and nearly killed me both times and I am not exaggerating.... Imagine a rear wheel locking up at 100kph just after you've pulled in front of a semi trailer you just passed..... Second time the air duct was left loose inside the front fairing and the steering locked left and I ran off the road. Second dealer I went to took two weeks to complete a minor service and left the obd plug out and it's cover not refitted. Then at its second attempt they damaged a fork leg lower. It had a instrument cluster replaced and a fuel gauge sender replaced in the first year. Go the Honda.

      @@martythompson6509 I have always done my own repairs out of warranty but no doubt there will come a time when something will come up that I wont be able to do. I am not in a hurry to buy so will take my time.

    Go into user mode and turn off the traction control and rear ABS. Some rear brake or a nice chunk of throttle would have got that turned and saved you a tip over.👍

    Nice video!
    I did the same thing last week, misread a corner that linked into a second corner, came in too hot, locked up the rear and slid off the gravel onto wet grass then dropped my AT in a ditch. Also came unstuck on some wet clay just a few kilometres before hand.
