Found this drill press on Amazon but with no reviews so I went searching for a review on U-Tube and found yours. Based on your review I bought one and it is everything you said it was. Very well built, solid and quiet. Everything arrived intact with nothing broken. I have never been a fan of china products and lost faith in Sears years ago. In this case I have been proven wrong on both counts. Thanks for taking the time to post your review.
Nice presentation. I would have liked to see you actually setting it up and especially the insertion of the chuck. I just bought the same model. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the great review Tim. I couldn't decide between the HF 10" or this one. You made my decision on getting this drill press much easier. Keep up the good work!
Great video. I'm currently in trying to set up my own machine shop with a small press and lathe to start. Information given answered all my questions. Keep up the good work.
Great video. You really helped me understand this thing as well as appreciate how it compares to others. Thanks for generously sharing your knowledge, opinions and experience!
I just bought this guy as a quick cheap replacement, used off craigslist with a delta 1 in belt sander disk sander and 6 inch bench grinder. There is alot of surface rust but looking at the belt compartment it doesnt look like the belts have ever been adjusted so the seller really only used it once. Only problem I have so far is the crank sticking a bit, other than that its not too loud, vibrations are not horrible and the chuck is almost perfectly aligned. Good video, would have liked to see the build process
Thanks for the comment. I have been pretty pleased with it so far. The only problem i have had is with the chuck key. It fell apart and the spring fell out. I was able to find the spring and got it together, then used a rubber washer at the end so it can't come out again. Sounds like you got a good deal. I also built a ust collection port for it. I have a video on my channel titled "shop jigs". Check it out.
I have/had the same clarke drill press. Right in the middle of drilling with a forstner bit it just slowed down then run backwards. Wasn't really working it that hard. Waited to see if maybe it got hot. Couple hours later it still ran backwards. I bought the same craftsman , hoping it works well for me. Kinda weird to comes across this video
Got it Christmas but just put it together yesterday. Chuck has a bit of a wobble even after 2nd reinstall. Not sure what to do about it. Won't drill a perfectly straight hole. Any ideas???
+paul stradley had the same problem. the problem is in the pulley bearings. Instead of returning it I rebuilt the bearing and pulley assembly. Turned out to be a expensive venture.
I have one and I'm sorry I bought it. It's a piece of junk. Poorly made and noisy. The return spindle spring clanks as you bring the spindle down. I worked on it trying to get it to work smooth but with out and resolve. The pulley bearings have a lot of slop which causes the noise. I wish I could take it back and get my money back. Harbor Freight sells a drill press that beats the craftsman's hands down.
+Thomas A Sprouse The noise you might have is the belt because if it sits for too long it will become oval shaped and cause vibrations. I've heard that the HF presses were terrible in terms of precision and what not but if it suits you well happy to hear.

Good video. You helped me decide. Would have enjoyed watching the assembly. Sometimes you see things that save a lot of aggravation.

Acetone work?
First thing I would do is buy a converter so I wouldn't need batteries as lasers eat AA batteries up very quickly.
Appreciate the review. Very helpful.
Is it strong enough drill through metal?
I just got one two months ago and love mine. Also nice videos just gained a subsriber
Having a hard time removing the chuck... any ideas? I bought mine at a flea market.
