The way I see it, there are two skills you need to beat Celeste, that I like to call Analysis and Execution. Analysis is your understanding of the game’s physics, and your ability to plot a route from point A to point B using the platforming mechanics. It’s also your ability to identify your own mistakes and correct them (which also doubles as anger management when you get to the late game non-canon extra levels that are super hard). Execution is your ability to actually make your hands do what your brain is trying to get them to do. You might be surprised how difficult this one is. I played Celeste on my Nintendo Switch, and I found myself dashing in the wrong direction a lot. At first I blamed my controller, but then I realized that depending on my sitting posture or the action I had just finished doing correctly, my thumb was ending up on the wrong part of the joycon or even sliding off entirely. (Playing on a controller definitely makes this issue worse, because on keyboard you control your direction with WASD. But I still play on Switch and I’ve managed to overcome it with practice.) This game is fantastic if you like learning, improving, and developing skills. I know I’ve had a blast playing this game over and over until I can ace every level (except for the second post-epilogue DLC chapter, which I have never properly beaten due to carpal tunnel I got from dash-spamming too much in Hades.) I look forward to watching your journey!
Yeah I get that issue with dashing in the wrong direction as you might have seen in the video I'd try a diagonal up right dash but end up going right Something I love about this game is sometimes you get thrown into an area where you'd have to think fast on the fly. And if you die you gotta restart from a previous room and then going back to that second room you gotta use what you learned from that first analysis and think with that in mind The game tests you but isn't, I dunno.... overly punishing? I love it Excited to record more today!
Yoooo I Love this song! 6:15
