Hi Mark & ZZ. Beautiful cherry lumber. That was a shame about " red rot." That's the darkest cherry. I don't remember any cherry that dark. Thanks Mark & ZZ. Say Hi to Ed. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜⚘️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I watch and enjoy all of your videos, just curious as to why most of what you saw is 4qtr, rarely dimensional lumber, would appreciate your feed back. Thanks
Team work makes the dream work. I bet the cherry will be great in someone’s smoker. Mark, sure hope you get some time off for good behavior. Wishing you both a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together with family. Peace
Ten o’clock at night that’s nice cherry lovely colour, my day off was cut short in the afternoon a friend in an accident with there horses and carriage with a motorbike, horses and people were ok I recovered the carriage with my pick up I’ve a tail lift so I spent bout eight hours repairing it to day axle wasn’t bent broken centre bolt so I made two rebuilt the spring a step and couple more bits , just needs painting lined and lacquered be as good as new , I’ll try for another day off tomorrow and leave my phone at home anyway you guys have a nice day
Looks like you will have some select/shorts cherry for sale. I sold a lot of shorts to cabinet makers because they did not need 8 ft and 6 or 7 would work.
I follow Jim Gordon on working horses with Jim who has small farm in upstate N.Y. He logs with draft horses and has his own saw mill. His site was where I learned about red rot. You look at a tree which looks great till it's cut down and is either left in woods or taken for their outside furnace. His daughter is 2 years into rebuilding a 150+ year old home. The name of her blog is called. A drill and a dream.
You should tell "Fricken Jeep" that is ok to take some time off. You put out one hell of a eviction notice on that spider. Well, you got some nice boards out that. I hope that you find a buyer. Good to see Mark and Mark..............I guess that "marks" the spot.
This brings back some memories, back in the 80’s.. just a couple of kids out to make a buck. My girlfriends brother and I went to their grandparents 100+ year old cherry farm on Bloody Point Kent Island after a hurricane had passed by and blew down a bunch (50) of cherry trees. They all were this big or bigger and a good 40 ft of them was clear and straight.. we just sawed it up and split it and sold it as firewood.. 😢😢😢
Awesome video as usual. Just one suggestion if I may. On the edger, you should have the switch that starts the drive for the boards to enter the edger moved to the operators right. Walking around the board every time sucks. A good electrician could do that in 20 minutes or less. And it would only cost a hundred or two. It would save you from walking around the boards thus making it more safe and save time. When you have a stack of lumber right behind the operator and he has to navigate the stack and the board, I see someone tripping over the stack. If you just have the switch moved, you eliminate that issue. The manufacturer should have figured that out. That switch is really ay a dumb place.

Cherry is such an awesome and beautiful wood. But I really am liking ZZ's beard. How long has he had that facial decoration and how long did it take to grow? Beware of sparks. HA PS- We are expecting our first Granddaughter in August. I want to build her a hope chest and thinking some of that cherry wood might be the ticket. What say you?
@ 3:47 "this log is kind of really nicely round" Mark I beg to differ @ 3:47 sure looks like an egg to me with a pith at an almost two third's mark of log ( am I being too nit picky ? yes I am )
I agree One of the darker, prettier cherries I have seen. The defects may have stained the interior darker. Off to summer canoe trip. See you when I get back. Save the videos for me. If I drive out to see my daughter in September,, want a day of free labour? I've got a gray beard, you might not notice the new guy.
Nice wood from a religious log, you know because it be ho-lie. Good to see you back in operation even though you are down a man. It must be an Alka Seltzer log. you know plop, plop, fizz. fizz.

it was big lol.
Gorgeous wood. Too bad you're in PA. That's a long road trip from San Diego. Oh Well. This lumber will go fast anyway.
thanks , that's a long road trip for sure lol.
Do you know how old is this cherry log? The big one. How long does it dry out from a inch thick cherry log?
❤❤❤👍
That boom sounded hollow.
yes a thud lol.
Has the blade ever kicked up a board when it doesn't fall away from the blade? I hope not
no sir Doug , I hope I never see that.
