Monika Kuszyńska (2015) used to be the lead singer of Varius Manx, a band that was very popular in Poland, mainly in 1990s. In 2006 she survived a terrible car crash. Since then she's been paralysed from the waist down and has to use a wheelchair. The black and white video you could see on that big screens during her Eurovision performance showed what she looked like before that car crash. Krystian Ochman (2022) is a grandson of Wiesław Ochman, Polish opera singer. He definitely inherited vocal talent 🙂
For me best ever: "The Final Countdown" is a song by Swedish rock band Europe, released in 1986. Just when I hear Eurovision - I think of this song :-) Song of my youth. From the Polish ones I like Ich Troje: Żadnych granic, Edyta Górniak: To nie ja and Blanka: Solo is a good tune for my ear. Others I even don't know.
Actually i'm recent years the quality went up, there's a lot of good artists both participating and winning. However I agree that the low places in the nineties/early 2000s had more to do with being "unknown" than with the songs themselves
We have sent people who can't even sing with bashful songs and with a completely screwed-up presentation on stage, so we won't achieve anything. Blaming it on others is an embarrassment. Grow up.

In my opinion, you should definitely make reactions to Gromee's songs, they are in English and he is a DJ, I really think you will like them, and of course the idea of making reactions to My Słowianie - We Are Slavic from Cleo and Donatan is also very good. And this is my advice, at the end, these types of competitions are usually judged by the audience not in terms of performance or the song itself, but by whether they like that country at a given moment or not, so unfortunately it is often influenced by the political context of the current events in the world at that time.
I like Eurovision but not watching the Polish entries. It's a bit like with Great Britain who usually sends shit songs. Some songs in the nineties were good, but since they didn't have much succes (Poland was just a country struggling to get free of its communist past back then, struggling with poverty and crime- it gave us a bit of a bad marketing), we decided that it's pointless and started sending some random songs, often by new artists with no specific style or carreer, created just to participate. Almost none of these songs has any popularity in Poland. There was also a lot of controversy with some of them: Rafał in 2021 was pretty much a tool of the back-then government who sent him authoritarily, without letting the people vote. (People wanted to let Alicia participate, since the previous year contest was cancelled). Ochman in 2022- he's a great singer and the song was, for once, pretty well liked in Poland (although I really dont like how the performance turned out). In the voting, Poland got almost no points from Ukraine (despite being the biggest supporter of Ukraine and accepting 2mln of refugees just a few months ago). As it turned out, the Ukrainian jury was corrupt, some people in it openly supporting Russia. They were purposefully trying to present Ukraine as "ungrateful" (as the russian trolls are still doing right now). It was a pretty big scandal and Ukrainians were apologizing and saying they had nothing to do with the result (Poland got a lot of points from the public vote) and it was this corrupt jury that tweaked the scale. Blanka 2023- it's not that much of a song being "bad", but she was also chosen by the government-approved jury (despite Jann- the other contestant, winning the public vote/Blanka performing absolutely terrible in the qualifications). Edyta Górniak (the one from 1994) was in the jury and she said that "her conscience" doesn't let her vote for Jann (with age she became very conservative, not to mention a conspiracy theorist). As it turned out, Blanka was her son's "friend".

I stopped watching Eurovision years ago because it got too political and then too weird and I wondered what kind of contest it was, because after all it's a singing contest and I still don't watch it, and neither do my children, because they don't care as much as I did when I was their age. I asked my parents to go to bed later so that I could watch Eurovision or Sopot. Now my daughter doesn't want to go to sleep because she has to watch the series: Policemen
Almost all of those songs are huge duds. They failed not only to get good results on Eurovision but also in Poland. Instead of using popular songs from the year, they decided to create ones specifically for the contest. We did well whenever artists sang their big hits. Look at the '94, It was one of her best songs, and it won 2nd place. Same thing with any other song that was above 15th place.
I have really bad opinion about Eurovision, its mostly driven by politics usually worthless trash-pop. Polish Eurovision ended in 1997, excluding 2014 (; )), 2019, and these songs are quite good, and popular in PL.
Poland is not liked country in Europe. We dont have any chances at the start.Taking part in Eurovision is totally nonsense. From the other side,we as the nation never had a good taste and music feeling.
Co XD our classical music and jazz is appreciated worldwide. We had and still have tons of great musicians in rock and pop even if for obvious reasons they don't make carreers internationally. Sending shittynsongs to Eurovision has nothing to do with taste or talent in the nation. Poland is also well liked by foreigners, even if there are sometimes political clashes. We won Eurovision junior several times in a row.

Nowadays, what matters is not talent, but politics and money and other views. It doesn't matter if something is good or not.

Edyta❤ 1994
We coplain about Blanka, because her win was a favouritsm thing and they robbed Jann big time (and bc Edyta Górniak might haveee beeen too shook).
Edyta Góniak showed her true face then.
