Quality camerawork and clear audio made this video a refreshing change from a lot of the videos I've looked at today.

I used this just to show my 4-year-old nephew how his marble machine works. What's funny is that not only was he amazed, but so was I! I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that we really appreciate all of your videos.

I built one marble pump with a square piston and a built up inner block as my tools are limited and in fact it turned out to be simpler. My Grandson loves it. Mr Wandel, congratulations for your work, you gave the workshop the status it deserves and every school should have such a workshow where children would see such functions and such "wooden logic". I think it is a necessary education in addition to reading and writing and the other acceptive creative arts!

You sir are a Genius... I have watched a lot of your videos sometimes 3-4 times and Love the projects you create and build. Some day I hope to have the shop/shops you have to make things happen... I being a poorboy craftsmen love the idea of making my own tools and I have made a few with inspiration from you thanks for that!

I don't know about learning to keep a tidy shop. Tell me when you find out.
I have learned to clean up as far as the camera's sightlines go.

It's not loosing your marbles that is the problem it is all in how you find them. Grin. Thanks for the great video. I'm going to order your plans for this. I make custom furniture and am going to incorporate this into the kids area.

Seeing all the machinery you use to do this outstanding job, I'm surprised you got all 10 fingers intact! I know a lot of people who lost 2 or 3 fingers in accidents while doing just what you're doing but you seem to take great care and put safety first. Keep up with the good work... it brings fond memories of my childhood, playing with my father...

The input and output holes are at a slight angle because they need to be close together for the piston, but I like them further apart on the top so there's more room between the input and output.

That's a world away from ACTUALLY getting stuck in, I know, but I thought to myself, "To start this Great Thing, first one must have balls, preferably balls of steel, glass being what it is". Keep up the good work old son. {:o)

You knonw some one is goingto pick this up, make it in china out of cheep plastic and get rich off of your marble racer.
I have been into marble racing for years and have a ton of stuff (all plastic)
I have a little bit of every brand and style. Ther is nothing out there that stacks on itself like what you have created in your stackable racers.
You have made marble LEGO and I want some! My woodworking skill is under par to make them. I wish you well.

That's more a function of what sort of motor you have. The right kind of motor with a gearbox is not that easy to find. And in the marble machine, this one is hand cranked.

  • @matthiaswandel

In England you can get a very simple motor/gearbox combination from Maplin. They do one with Meccano-spec mount holes, and a multi-ratio gearbox. (you keep or remove elements to pre-set the ratio. Maplin is online.
