A day after the Godrej family finalised a deal to split the 127-year-old empire among its two family branches, comes the news of the third branch pledging a massive donation. As per reports, Rishad Kaikhushru Naoroji is gifting all his wealth to his nieces and nephews. Rishad, a cousin of Adi, Nadir and Jamshyd Godrej, has no children of his own and as part of his succession planning is reportedly distributing his $ 3.8 bn wealth among his relatives. The reclusive billionaire holds considerable stakes in 4 of the five listed Godrej group companies and is also a stakeholder in some unlisted Jamshyd Godrej group companies. Rishad has not been an active participant in the day-to-day affairs of the Godrej Group, preferring instead to focus on his conservation activities.
