It's not Arrogance, it's part of life Journey. Atleast he tried, failed. It's much better than people who don't do anything. Sometimes it Clicks.

He keeps saying arrogance which is a wrong word here. He was ambitious and dreamed big. Nothing wrong with it. His venture didn't work out despite good feedback from qualified businessmen and lot of research and passion and hardwork. His failure is a matter of faulty strategy of not going online for a while or not having deep pockets to run the show like Jio or simply bad luck. I see it as positive and nothing terrible he's trying to make it sound. Of course he lost 39cr, but thats the risk every business takes.

Arrogance is the right word. My first business was a super hit and I became arrogant and then my next 3 businesses flopped for one reason or the other. Now I am running my 5th business successfully. I can feel what Mr Prashant means by saying "arrogance"

He himself says big brands were not built overnight; it took them decades to build their reputation. He was in tearing hurry to multiply 30 CR into 300 CR, without any background in the business. You always have to work on your strength not in alien fields where one doesn't have any experience. Brands are built in an organic way not by fits and starts. Be that as it may, myriad lessons can be learnt from this story. Similarly Kishore Biyani tried to do too many things at a time, he got too ambitious. He was a king in retail and see where he stands now. Play on your strengths. Don't try to jump steps while climbing a staircase. Pant toh fatega boss.

Most companies fail because they run out of cash before the product takes off. Either have huge investors (ex: jio, indigo etc) or start small. In this case he should have stuck to online format until the business could stand on its feet

I don’t agree he’s arrogance that time he was confident on his product but success take time, I’m not that kind of expert but that I have have experience of retail marketing is that I think he need to be patience that time it will definitely works but some kind of mistake he did that lot of money he had spent so early if he take time and spending some time in this field he would be king but unfortunately some how some mistakes take place.

Nike, adidas, puma, campus, Sparx, Red Tape,
    But I feel that इनके brand name मे कमी रह गई थी,
    Logo भी same impact डालता है आपके Brand name पर, इस 4चीज पर काम करना भूल गए ये।

anticipation & reality are two different things altogether . . . initially he could have limited his sales only to online retail like Amazon & Flipkart . . . observe how good his product is selling in the market . . . could have priced his sneakers more competitively between Rs 1,200 & Rs 3,250 a pair . . .

In my opinion why he failed!
    1) not enough on the ground market research of what people wanted? Why they want it ? & most important at what price?
    2) Positioning! He positioned products in slot which was just a level below established brand , if as he mentioned customer streches his budget little more they can buy cult brand which they can show off !( in India it matters ! reason why Tata Nano failed because in India owning a car is a proof that you are wealthy now, upper middle class or rich class & Tata Nano was positioned as state Bus transport ( ST)Driver’s Car ! Who will buy a car that even ST driver’s own !? ) If he would have positioned it in low budget slot then equation would have worked! Today home brands are selling very well in price range of 700₹ to 2000₹ ! Like Campus, Sparks, action …
