I thoroughly enjoyed this and thank you Helen for having Robert Dilts explain neurological levels as only he can. I look forward to hearing and seeing more.
To the people giving feedback about helens movements. What if you noticed that what your saying or suggesting isn’t positive feedback more or so criticizing. Did you imagine putting yourself in her posting and feeling “how do I add as much value as I can to my audience in 15 min with someone who I look up to?” that would cause anyone to slightly speed up inside! What you miss out on if you focus on that is helens obvious drive is so clear that she was able to make a strong connection with Robert in order for him to say “yes” in the first place. What’s happening when you comment things like that is your internal dialogue saying “I could have done better” that is pure ego. That you must check yourself on. As soon as you compare in that way you’ve missed the whole point of NLP and the part of transformation in of itself.
What a kind comment Ryan. Thank you. Sorry for late reply. This was actually my first ever video interview, so yes I was nervous. Im naturally a big gesture person ... which does look odd on the screen ... Im still learning. Yes conscious mirroring , intended to help the viewer ... but looks more like a distraction. Ill keep learning.
Finally someone said it, if everyone in here is so good at NLP where are their videos interviewing pioneers. So easy to comment on matching and mirroring from behind a keyboard. If we could just be grateful and share kindness rather than using ridiculous frames and focus on the actual content, ethos, pathos, logos and telos (her intention was to share and help others) why would so many respond in a nitpicking manner. What a strange way to use their NLP.
Thank you so much for posting this! Helen: stay exactly as you are, enthusiastic and spontaneous, love it! What I like about this explanation of logical levels model is the addition of the fact that traumas happen because of (early) experiences in the environment. And these imprints (de)form your belief system and feeling of identity. So the change has to be on the higher levels. It's not always so easy to transform strong limiting beliefs that have been created at an early age, especially if the environment was toxic, but the "secret" ingredient of Robert Dilts' approach is his unconditional belief as a mentor and a sponsor that is ís possible, and that you deserve to be healed and become a happier version of yourself and that you belong, that you are worthfull and unique and you have something to contribute. And this is what's needed in transformational coaching and this what coaches and therapists should model from Robert Dilts: this unique deep supporting sponsorship. this is where the real healing takes place. Thank you!
Thank you so much Annemie. Robert never loses his magic does he. Did you see the second video we did which had lots more on trauma ?? Hope all is sparkly with you. NLPU in 2004 seems a long time ago xx
Thanks Helen - I found this very, very helpful. I'm new to this theory and Robert's explanation, together with your insights into this affect traumatized children, was invaluable.
Wow!! the OS analogy in the field of computer sciences has effectively portrayed the "tabula rasa" theory in relation to an empty slate.thanks.compliments!
My roots with Robert go back many years and was a great influence upon my development along with his partner Todd. Now is the time for him to evolve his model by continuing to expand the developing pyramid on top of the pyramid and exploring the developing states of consciousness which describe our true nature beyond the physical. Most importantly by recognizing that Christ consciousness is the universe that we reside in and resides within us. How when entering into various trance states those explorations may be made and controlled as Erickson discovered. The rules of religion including Christianity have greatly fettered mankind in the expansion of awareness of mankind, our destiny. The Urantia papers truly offer the information that Robert was looking for and was available at the time he published his papers about Christ. The information was derived from one person (messenger ) in a trance before Robert was born. Barry T
really good stuff! thanks Helen and Robert! question, when Robert discussed about these levels affecting how we behave and our beliefs affecting other things, how are these things comparable to Meta Programs? are they or are they not?
I would say that this model sits alongside the meta programmes. I wonder if the question "how are Meta programmes formed" and viewed in the context of logical levels is more powerful. AND I have no idea of the answer. .. however, in my work in child trauma world, I can see why traumatised children might have some strong 'towards and away froms'. I think one of the joys of NLP is how flexible we can be and each model is a different tool. As (i think) Milton Erickson said " if you're only tool is a hammer, you see every problem as a nail"
I have a question about critical equivalences, what exactly are they? Is it a standard we set to see whether a behaviour satisfies something we value or am I completely off?
Great, seeing Robert Dilts explaining his model. But Helen is pacing Roberts movements way too hard (obvious), almost bizarre. It's difficult to watch.
The brain is a network of concepts and nuclei. Simplifying all interactions into levels is not likely to lead to a deeper understanding of behavior. Apart from sensory experiences at the bottom, the rest is nicely interconnected with multiple loops of feedback. It is more useful to speak of anatomical correlates, e.g. the amygdala, the nucleus accumbens, the neocortex and its areas, etc. Let's better talk of the brain as it is

Helen's movements are so distracting it's hard to concentrate on what Robert is saying. What on earth was she thinking? Please tell me she doesn't think that is matching and mirroring? If she does then she needs to listen to Bandler when he says he only uses rapport when it is absolutely necessary.
Yep... I had the same idea ... The most inappropriate time and place on trying to build up congruency by matching and mirroring ... Very amateurish ...

Great content from Dilts but that lady can’t keep a lid on her enthusiasm, it’s so overpowering. She seems quite wired! If she could relax, hand over the reins and let the guy who is the authority on the subject talk, with her gently facilitating the process, it’d be awesome. The people have dialed in to hear Dilts. She would benefit from doing some Headspace to calm her mind down a little. Has happened to all of us though.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree , far too many large gestures. It was my first facebook live. im used to presenting to larger groups. sorry it spoilt your experience.
I KNOW ..... it was my first interview (ever) and as a natural big gesture person, it looks odd. Sorry. Learning from the feedback. Hope it didn't detract from the content.
@@michaelp8738 Thanks Mike. Have you watched the second video, where Robert talks about sponsorship, coaching , awakening etc? He is great. Im still "too rapporty" ; inevitable as its a follow on. FYI: in real life and when coaching I generally get rapport right.
FYI this was my first facebook live video interview and I didn't realise how much my hand gestures needed to be curtailed. Im used to speaking from a bigger platform. I hope you were able to get the message without being distracted by the messenger. If you watch some later webinars I hope you'll think Ive improved my delivery style in this medium.
Wow. Just wow. Identity is where the transformation happens. Thank you for posting.
you are most welcome. This is my favourite model and transformed my thinking, hence the desire to "get it out there"

Merci beaucoup (thanks a lot) Helen et Mr DILTS pour cette video, explaining this neurological model
Top simple explanation... Thank YOU so Much, Robert Dilts & Helen Oakwater!!
Robert Dilts is phenomenal a legend in the field of NLP

Do you know a way to speed up her learning?
If a child likes you, she's gonna be pointing out all the similarities between the two of you. I choose to look at her and see that.
Alright, now, i probably wouldn't have seened it had you not pointed it out... thankyou! You look very distinguished on the profile picture.
I took it as her just being playfully silly.
Is that what you care about criticizing everything you see...That's what I do and it is annoying
Helen was smart she matching and modelling Robert..
Thats kind Nam ... a little too much mirroring, but it was my first filmed live interview.
Wow. Watch how fully bought into his frame she is.
Fantastic… so now… the nature versus nurture/environment argument hmmm 🤔
I’d like to do a song called “Mental Map” which repurposes the old song “The Monster Mash”

What about feelings, emotions and drives?
Change and transformation is done in logic.facts understanding, not emotion. It may require a change in attitude. Imitating winners.
