This week we feature a stylish sixties saloon. While sports cars were the dream for most, saloons are what moved the nation and for most it was the start of their fascination with cars, and no one did a stylish sporty saloon better than Ford. With its edgy thunderbird lines, instantly recognisable front end and peppy V4 engine the Ford Corsair definitely a crowd favourite.

Beautiful!!! The Classic Car Club never ceases to amaze me with the assortment of cars that the members cherish! My familiarity with the Corsair came from the model versions made in the 1960s (Matchbox, Dinky, and Lone Star). I always liked that modern, futuristic, Detroit-influenced styling with inspiration taken from Ford USA's crown jewel 1961 Thunderbird, but scaled down to a smaller more practical size and in a more practical sedan version. Such a unique classic!
