- We see how Washford station looks after the S&D Guardians have left. Then new steam life being enjoyed at Blue Anchor Station as the engine runs round and the train prepares for departure after a one hour stay.
Great to see Odney Manor being used at last. Also good to see an extended journey too.
The next step will be Dunster, I expect with a diesel on the end.
eddy from exmouth now nearly 77 and housebound owing to ill health lovely video brings back lovely reminder of when i was fit and well and could do this myself bless you all eddy
So glad you enjoyed the video Eddy. Best wishes from us both.
@StudioFiftyOne Video can be so rewarding cant it!
Glad to see Odney Manor running without that stinky diesel.
I was talking to someone from Minehead who told me your favourite Foxcote Manor has emerged from the shed looking very smart.
Not everyone hates diesels I heard passengers seeing the crompton with to saloon coach and a couple said ‘next time we will come on a diesel day’
@@SomersetTrainspotter I didn't know one had been there until I saw your fine video!
@@ADMIRALSCORNER cheers 😃
@@ADMIRALSCORNER Foxy has emerged from the shed. Thanks. I'm not asking for proof of it or anything. I hope it means she'll be running again. I'd give anything to see her in one of your videos, even if it was only a brief glimpse. I miss her so much.
Really amazing train sound 👍👍
Washford Bank is a good place to record the sound!
Thank u for ur reply sir👍👍
I am just now watching one of the videos you made earlier ( EATING OUTDOORS NEAR WASHFORD STATION WSR WITH ). Here I can still see the train station when it was still in use.
Yes, the good old days!
Nice to see Washford station. such a nice place, love the goods yard too. I hope it all does not fade away!
I think the fireman is the nice young chap who allowed me on the footplate of Odney Manor the year before last.
He told me that he'd done his training on Dinmore Manor.
There are some very good people on the railway.
well. this brought back a lot of memories for me. what a lovely spring time day. Thank you.
I'm glad of that Keith. You were one of the first to put the WSR on video!
I have seen pictures on the Internet yet ,where benches are placed in front of the station building for passengers. People sit on the benches or stand on the platform. Now I see the station empty. The train did not even stop, it just slowed down. It is strange to see this station like this.
There is now a small group of supporters trying to bring the station back to life.
@@ADMIRALSCORNER This sounds great! I sincerely hope they succeed!
As soon as the service leaves blue anchor it had to deal with washford bank
The fireman needs to keep the pressure up !
I’m the boy in the white top and grey shorts at 17:53
Welcome! We hope you had a good day!
You did a fine job in your video of the event, so I expect you did enjoy the day!
Great to see these back running again
I was impressed by how the staff at Blue Anchor had maintained the gardens with so long having passed since the last passenger carrying trains visited.
Hopefully they can make a small depot out of site to give some extra interest
Yes. Many will be watching to see what the WSR makes of Washford Station.
Excellent video. Would love to be there, but am in locked down Melbourne, Australia thanks to our incompetent socialist state government (national one is OK), 17120 km from Blue Anchor.
Love the (non-interlocked?) gates and tradtional signalbox with semaphore signals.
Real nostalgia! Love it!
How sorry-looking Washford station is. It looks derelict?
Certainly not as bad as when the S&DJR Trust took it over in the 1970's.
@@applecounty Its sad to see them go. I spent many a happy hour there when it was active, even being offered and enjoyed a cab ride.
