RE: Chips VS Mult: The two numbers are multiplied together. So the best thing to increase is usually whichever is smallest, assuming you have the same bonus. It's harder to calculate with red mult, since that can be adding Massive amounts to your multiplier, but in short: Low chips means your mult isnt worth much anyway, so you always want at least one source of chips.
It's some extremely simple math, actually, it's just that gamer brain probably rotted him toward "ooh, multiplier good", because most games really limit your access and the amount of multiplier you can get. Otherwise every few hours you'd just multiply so hard that the game breaks. In Balatro it's barebones, simple visuals, so you can go ham on the multiplier and I guess he gets blinded by that a bit (as does chat). In that very last hand he had like 200 chips vs 6k mult. Adding a few extra chips with scary card would make up for like 3000 multiplier very easily. Although tbf it did feel like he was just kinda throwing stuff halfway through in order to end it quicker.
Posting this when I first thought it so Frost might still do it but this setup could go nuts after getting all cards are face cards joker(also before it but not as good) by switching the every face card is gold joker and the vampire joker. You'd stop buffing the vampire for a few rounds because you would be adding the gold after the vampire, which also means any gold it does remove is immediately replaced; eventually turning every card in the deck gold. Now unplayed cards not only give yo tons of gold but they also increase the multiplier for every 5 gold you have, combining with the vampire who's buffed with every card you do play. This combo of jokers is just ballin', I love it!
I tried this seed and i made it to ante 13 round 38 and got deffeated by 47.000.000.000 Small Blind, my best hand was 574.620.581, i found some broken combos with the face card repeater Joker and the Joker that copys other Joker card. Love the content you are the reason i bought this game, its so mutch fun!
Can you get credit for seeded runs, like unlocking new decks? I’ve had a few starts with a good joker that I messed up and if I cools use that seed to restart think I could do better

Stick Bootstraps at the front to get a high initial mult for the Vamp to multiply, and he'd have Massive amounts. Then, as said, a source of chips to add to it. Though if he'd kept trading card for longer, he could have burnt more non-faces, to have more consistent high base value hands, like 5 of a kind, which would give a relatively high starting chip value. (120+50 for 5 faces).
@calemr putting vamp first would leave more golden cards in the deck but wouldn't buff vampire any faster. You might gain more gold, but the initial play of face cards wouldn't scale vamp putting you behind on the curve.
I know this is old, but also his refusal to just look at ancient and see what suit it was on before playing actually lost him this one. If he played the two other diamond queens in his hand on the first hand that fight it scales so much more.

And then the one that gives 5$ when 3 face card is discarded. It was perfect, and I hunted for a vampire so fucking much... Only to never get it. Still got to ante 10, until I got boss blind that debuffs all face cards. It was soulcrushing, but hey. I guess Balatro indeed be ballin. Sometimes.
had a run with vampire and the midas touch card that turned all face cards gold. then got the joker that treats all cards a face cards. add a blueprint to double up the x50 mult and you get an obscenely ez run
this run was sick. I personally would have gotten rid of dna after getting so many queens, but thats the cool part about this game, you can play how you want to and just win!

i think u could have farmed more if u put the midas and vampire as first two jokers, so the mult on vampire is not multiplying a big amount of mult already from ither cards
