  • Two nights wild camping on the Islands of loch lomond.
    Set off in my canoe on friday evening leaving my car in the car park at Balmaha. Canoed over to Torrinch and set up my hammock and prepared some food, Steak sunday dinner and some cider to wash it down with. Next Morning set off nice and early and had a tour of a few of the islands with a lunch stop on the way.

      Hey Craig. Cheers. Think theres was only a few midges in the morning when I was packing up that got on my tits. No idea what they will be like now. Hopefully I'll get up there next month too so we will see what they are like.. I'll prob take a headnet to be safe.
      Cheers paul

    cracking vid and love the grub you cooked up, is Balmaha a good place to leave the car as I'm up there for the first time this weekend coming so it will be a learning curve as much as camping and canoeing. any advice appreciated.

      keith soulsurviver thanks for the comments. Yeah balmaha seems safe enough. You can drop ya canoe and gear on the side of the loch then the car park is a couple hundred meters away.
      It's nice and open so I wasn't worried. This was my first time to so had all the same worries..anything else you wanna know just ask.

      thanks for the reply, was thinking of paying for two nights on a campsite and leave car there but if the carpark is ok i'll go on there, not so bad if you can unload then go and park up, thanks again.

      Keith Moores I'm gonna go for a few nights in a couple of weeks. Want to get a sail for the canoe and see if I can get up to the north end and try the smaller islands up there. Hope you have a good time when ya there.

    How did you pay for the wild camping? Also I thought you had to bring your own wood and not use the wood on the islands to help the wildlife?

    • @wildwannieoutdoors8962
      @wildwannieoutdoors8962  2 года назад +1

      Hey Mark. You don't need to pay for wild camping. You only need to pay to camp in the permit zones at certain times of the year.
      I use drift wood or wood found on the beach for the fire. I do generally cary a couple of bags of wood with me aswel.
