Under section 107, the fair use of a copyrighted work is not copyright infringement, even if such use technically violates section 106. While fair use explicitly applies to use of copyrighted work for criticism, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research purposes, the defense is not limited to these areas. The Act gives four factors to be considered to determine whether a particular use is a fair use: the purpose and character of the use (commercial or educational, transformative or reproductive); the nature of the copyrighted work (fictional or factual, the degree of creativity); the amount and substantiality of the portion of the original work used; and the effect of the use upon the market (or potential market) for the original work.

I remember playing a tape cassette in the car with this performance for the first time. I almost lost control of the steering wheel with laughing so much.
Simply the best. When I was a first year apprentice I bought Shooting From the Lip and my Granda was laughing on the floor, great memory, especially my lefty uncle calling us racists and told to sod off out the house. 🤣

He saved Neil Sedaka's career and as you say, very charitable man which many decide to ignore. The intelligence of his gags still gets overlooked by reviewers. Sadly missed but not forgotten. I feel for today's comedians, so restricted through fear and control of speech.

Watching this in 2023, absolutely hilarious and it’s just jokes pretty much about every one. I miss the old days when people were not offended and not cancelling anything that they don’t like.

One of our country's finest comics. I interviewed him for radio once - the interview set up my hi mum whilst she was busy at the Embassy Club. They both couldn't have been better - and I've interviewed some 'big names' who were complete assholes on the day.

That's proper comedy
Bernard manning imo is right up there alongside the likes of Pryor, carlson, connoly, rickles, dangerfield, etc. His story telling and timing is an absolute masterclass of comedy. Not in a million years could you get away with some of his jokes in this day, but as an irishman, nothing made me laugh more than his Irish gags. His punchlines were so out of left field you never knew what he was going to say as he had zero barriers. It's criminal that he isn't regarded as one of the all time greatest comedians, because he is a top 10 all day!
