    Just going to geek out for a second on that 60gpm take. Note how the flame was "extinguished" while inside the fog, but then emerged on the teddy bear Jason. This is showing us that the fog was successfully removing oxygen from the situation at 60gpm, but not meeting the btus to get the fuel below its flashpoint before it could exit the fog.

      @@m-w-y7325 True - this gave me the idea of probably the most dangerous toy a firefighter could ever dream of: a nozzle that can selectively spray either. Give the ability to set fire, then have immediate ability to put it out if it gets too big.

      @m-w-y7325 Год назад +7

      @@quillmaurer6563 I think they already might have a tool made for such specifics in mind already, also I wonder if the Army can recruit Fire Fighters as Pyro technicians since during WW2 British Commando teams had literal Civil demolition technicians as Sappers since those guys always knew how to bring a structures down and where to plant the explosive to do so.

    • @quillmaurer6563
      @quillmaurer6563 Год назад +1

      @@m-w-y7325 I'm sure the military already has their own firefighting teams, and I think I've heard of off-base civilian firefighters being called when the shit really hits the fan. But you're thinking of those who would set fires, not fight them - I'd doubt it, given that the military would just torch everything with flamethrowers or incendiary bombs from afar. A firefighter would be better at knowing where and how to set a small fire that would become big, the only case I could see that being useful would be some sort of covert operation where they can set the fire and escape before anyone notices. But I'd also imagine any enemy facility of strategic importance would be built of fireproof materials and have fire suppression systems. Though perhaps a firefighter or fire system technician would be of value for disabling said fire suppression systems, as well as the alarms.

    Man, flamethrowers must be such a cool ‘toy’ for firefighters. I did get some fire safety training because I did used to be a sea scout for many years.
    I got taught how to correctly use a fire extinguisher and correctly put out a fire. So I’m prepared, and I’ve had to do that more than once as a required safety training, so it’s just engraved in my mind.
    I also learned boat safety as well. And I think if I remember correctly, there are different extinguishers for different fire types. So if there’s a fire I know what to do instead of being the ‘helpless bystander’ as I call it. Fun fact: I also got standard first aid training, too.

    Next, we will be turning the air conditioning as cold as it will go and the heater as hot as it will go and let the two fight for the ultimate in comfortable temperature!

      Put a humidifier and dehumidifier in the same room and, to quote a movie, "Let them fight."

    Looks like somebody knows their Roman firefighter history.
    For those that don't know, Roman fire fighters worked like construction contractors. The contractors would go to the fire, bid on the contract and the winner would put out the fire. However, the system broke down when the fire crews were the ones starting the fires and preventing other contractors from getting to the scene. When the fire department has a flame thrower and in charge of arson investigation...

    Finally someone smart enough to use a fog instead of a straight stream. My dad's whole department had his handprint on the back of their helmets from him having to smack them and tell them to stop playing with the hose and actually put the fire out.
