Why was the trolling motor jerking to the left and right?

I have the older Garmin Gold auto pilot on my 20hp kicker.. it came with my boat originally on my 9.9 from previous owner. Luckily I don’t have to drop my trolling motor in the front for any reason. Thanks for watching!
