Honestly , If Nintendo pulled such a move with the dynamic feedback joystick it would be so poetic. After all, they revolutionized the modern gaming control with the joy stick during n64
@@Sleepyboiwonder Actually, no - I pulled in a couple of screenshots of the dbrand rotating case and looked at the first few pairs of symbols (keeping in mind the message appears to be upside down), and yeah they line up with the unicode hex codes for "why " - which is pretty on brand with Dbrand, they like to add easter eggs.
Also interesting fact: You can extract the video without the "SWITCH 2 KILLSWITCH" overlay text; they achieve the effect by layering the video between two images.
Every day i'm reminded of the Henry Ford quote: "if I gave customers what they wanted, they'd say they way a faster horse." If you think you just want a faster switch and that anything new would just be a worthless "gimmick," it's because you have no imagination.
I’m glad Nintendo is keeping it simple this time. Most of their gimmicks have been a solution in search of a problem that are a novelty without much actual usefulness. The Switch concept actually solves the issue of being able to have console level experiences at home and on the go and that will always be practical
Force feedback joysticks will be nuts and I suspect highly likely to fix the drift issue 🤙🏻 it also would explain the more concave stick designs we've been seeing
It’s funny cause everyone’s critiques about the Wii is the gimmicks and lack of buttons, yet the Switch’s gimmick is literally accessibility (which isn’t even up to date, tech being close to 10 years old). Fans will never be happy ig
I don’t understand the desire to have worthless novelty that will just make it more expensive and less functional. I’ve seen people say they should’ve made it a giant DS or something and I just… can’t wrap my brain around wanting that.
@@deanmoriarty6015 right, so Nintendo’s entire business model has always focused on around the connection of the player to the game. The “how do I interact with this game”, instead of the “a game is a game. Just make it look prettier” like other companies like to do. It goes all the way back to the original NES, and the D-pad. Every other machine was using either a joystick or a whole ass keyboard. Then the SNES shows up and the shoulder buttons are added (HUGE DEAL back then). Then the switch to 3D with the N64 and Nintendo is the first to transition BACK to the joystick (original PS controllers didn’t have joysticks, but they did have doubled shoulder buttons). GameCube was designed to be carried over to your friends house. It had a fricken handle on it! Then of course the Wii, WiiU, and now Switch. Every single one of these consoles had “gimmick” (I call it a “design feature” but whatever) that centered around Nintendo’s core question of “How do we make the interaction with the game more immersive, intuitive, and fun”? The Switch is currently the culmination of 45 years of market research and you can see it in all the tech that crammed into the portability, touch screen, IR sensor, gyro sensor, etc… The DS had its run, but it does not make business sense, or gamer sense for that matter, to place a second screen on a system designed to be hybrid the way it is. I don’t see how a second screen would be practice while docked, and while portable it would just be a drain on a battery that Nintendo is always worried about. The people that want it to be a DS system don’t realize that it already IS a DS system in all the ways that matter. Anything else actually would be gimmicky.
I really like how the back of the Switch 2 is all black. The only bit of color is on the top of the two Joy-Con 2, which makes me think that part might be swappable, so you could use custom covers like with the PS5
People making this a big deal when it actually is nothing. It's just yet another vibration in the controller. You never felt anything different with the texh in the JoyCons, you never felt anything with the DualShock 5 (it just stops the trigger for a millisecond and you have to force it more, no vibration no nothing) and you won't feel anything eith this tech from Nintendo. People saying that "you could also feel how the enemy grabs you" makes me laugh. It will be just another generic vibration on the controller. You will feel nothing. Even if it is directional, you will never make the distinction while gaming. It's just for a tech demo, cool for two minutes and then it is dead. And no developer is going to use it. Please stop hyping up useless things!
The gimmick is it will be able to cast and they will probably have ds games come out near launch on NSO along with some games that cause take advantage of it by having maps or whatever on the switch and the game on the screen
I've been on the "Switch 2" naming bandwagon for the last couple years! It's not exciting, but it's the most understandable to general consumers & most likely name to help carry over customers. Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, etc. and Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, etc. and iPhone 12, iPhone 13, etc. - Customers get these names without any need for brand reeducation or additional marketing. So for once, Nintendo may have a successor to a hit console that doesn't face a drastic drop off in users.
It works for Sony, but as technology progresses I can see Nintendo being open to another shift. So for the time being yes, but what happens 8 or 16 years from now? 🤷
I'll keep my switch OLED for now unless they release a lot of switch 2 exclusive games, or they release OLED version for switch 2. No rush to get the new one playing same games.
So Dbrand isn't an officially licensed accessory manyfacturer, right? Otherwise these leaks make no legal sense. :D How aren't the Nintendo ninjas all over them?
They are not officially licensed, correct. That’s honestly how they are able to do this. They never signed anything, they never had an agreement with Nintendo. So they don’t do anything illegal. That’s why you see them protecting their sources in the interview. They aren’t required to divulge that information just like any journalist.
Shutting down the article would confirm that its true. Right now, technically, this is unsubstantiated and could, technically, just be an estimate based on what we know. If Nintendo formerly shut them down though that would basically be admitting that that is the real design.
@ They could always take legal action after they reveal the console. 😛 That is, if there's even any legal course of action even available against an unlicensed Chinese company.
I went in hoping for something new, but then : "The core gimmick is that there isn't a new gimmick" Okay, well played ... I have serious doubts about the force-feedback, it sounds like it would be incredibly expensive and the joycon already are a rip-off.
Nintendo Super Swïtch. The two dots above the 'i' is classic Nintendo. Super to remove any confusion. The two dots representing the gimmick of casting to and from the device to TV screen as well

Fun Fact: On that rotating switch case there is hex code on it. It translates to "why are you decrypting this"
Plant/false information confirmed? lol

They shouldve had a track pad or something
I love that joystick logo….simple yet genius.
I'm 90% sure it should literally be a switch 2.. upgraded switch OG.. more power baby, can't wait!! ❤
The overclocked Switch sounds lame.
Great video as always Andres! I’m getting more and more excited about the Switch 2 reveal!

the leaks gotta be on purpose at this point lol maybe trying to build hype like the NX was
Now I’m gonna be disappointed if it doesn’t have this! Sounds like the PS5 triggers, which were pretty cool
I like the idea of switch 2 logo being the joystick.
Yeah, the fan made logo is perfect. If they were to use the logo of the first switch, I could see some confused parents out there.

Analogue triggers would be nice
And ds style screen functionality
Indeed, and I wonder if this ferromagnetic technology could also be used for the triggers, giving them variable resistance.
4:32 I see the actual switch 2 model under a translucent top cover designed by dbrand, that is why the joy cons are the traditional switch colors.
I have moderate expectations for the reveal happening, but I am ready in my head.
What is that pipe dragging sound in the background??
The eternal forest theme for Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. Did it sound weird?
A pipe dragging in the background
@@AndresRestart nah, it was fine, sounded a little ominous
I hope i can manually control the resistance of the control if the joysticks are like that.
