Farah: I'm not very good with dentist. I'm claustrophobic. Whatever is going on with me, I get very anxious when somebody's close to me or like dental work. I think another thing, I have severe anxiety. I cannot be awake and they perform on me. I think that none of the dentist realized that before, and they never try to address that problem. Dr. Ghiassi did it for me. He knows I'm coming here. Like, for example, one time I came and I didn't have time for whatever I needed to do. He told me, "No, we're not going to do anything until you come back and we considered you. And then we get the procedure done." That means a lot to me to understand to understand how like I'm a specific patient. It's not a cookie cutter like, "I can treat her like everybody else as far as like the procedure." He knows. He understands what is my problem and he addressed that.
Dr. Nader Ghiassi: Farah, when she came to us, she was here for a routine exams. The overall bone density is good. She doesn't have any predental disease or gum disease, but of course, she has known for many, many years that she has very soft teeth. She had a lot of restorations in her mouth. A lot of fillings and crowns and root canals and bridges. She got an infected tooth there. We end up extracting that and replacing dental implant for her. Of course, the main issue that we have to address for her, is the anxiety. She is very resistant about getting treatments. When we offered her oral sedation to get her dental implant and do the bone regeneration under oral sedation, she was extremely happy. She did wonderful.
Farah: The major thing I love about Dr. Ghiassi, again, on top of the quality of his work, he never treats his patient as a business. He treats them, "Okay. Let's take care of this tooth as long as we can. If it doesn't work, we're going to do an impact." It's not like, "Okay. Let's sit here. Let's get rid of that tooth and do an implant." Because he doesn't look at you as just a number. That's another thing, and I think it's very important. I come here at least twice a year for cleaning. This experience hasn't changed. It's just improved.
