I totally agree I’m an extremely spiritual person myself, especially when I got grown enough and I stopped going to church. I was actually able to hear 🦻🏾 God for myself (loud and clear) and I was able to grow more spiritually and grow closer with God on a more personal level.

I love that we can have open conversations about these things. I will say, though sometimes we look at things back then as absurd, but that’s just the way how life was. I’m pretty sure during that time people just took things as what they were but now that humanity has a evolved and things are questioned more and talked about more openly. It’s easy for us to look back call things absurd. I do agree that many people are straying away from the basics which is treat everyone kindly. Craig touched on some points. We were made differently on purpose to see how we treat one another.

Craig I agree that we have been hoodwinked into believing that it is blasphemous to speak or discuss specific issues in the church which is full of hypocrisy and deceit. However, enquiring minds want to know about the "things" and I refuse to be bullied or gaslight by any human being to apply critical thinking to decide if a particular belief or custom, situation makes logical sense. In conclusion we have our individual paths to navigate through life and we must extend grace to each other while we figure things out because at the end of the day it could be a fantasy, who really knows if these teachings are real....

Idk. I feel like black people as a whole, never question religion to the full extent. I mean down to the idea of god(s). Generally we have an emotional and cultural attachment to belief. Regardless of religion or spiritual belief no one questions it to its core. Everyone is certain that their faith is true. And it tends to feed into our own narcissistic worldview and emotional dependence.
