    This stuff works great in the rain for all kinds of equipment, especially LED lights:

    We use it in the Great NorthWet.

      Hey hey Leon!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting!
      So glad you enjoyed this video! As far as the differences between V1 and V2. While I don't have the V1 on hand, I did research it on my own when I was looking into getting that line a couple years ago. Essentially the V2 has an improved/updated control box, effects, and as far as light quality is pretty similar to the V1 in terms of hitting all color chips on the color checker (other youtubers used the same color checker I have in their V1 reviews).
      Hope this helps!

    Great review man! I have the mark I and I'm satisfied with it. What do you think is the next adition I can do to complement my setup for music video? A second one? RGB tubes or pannel? It seems the falconeyes are making rgb tubes now (IRISA 2).

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  3 года назад +1

      Hey hey rectape!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question!
      It kinda depends on your needs and style of video if you want to introduce colors or not. If yet with the colors, tubes lights serve dual purpose in that they can splash some color (they arn't as powerful) into the scene and or you can physically have the tube light in the scene as it looks cool to have "beams" of lights. (Assuming it fits your style)
      Some people use RGB ring lights for the same reasons to either splash colors or physically put the light into the shot. Just depends on your vision. The only ring light I've reviewed thus far is this one for reference: ruclips.net/video/NcivCBXkUZE/видео.html
      Hope this helps!

      @@TLDR_filmmaker Thank you for the detailled answer! I love the way you make your reviews. Yes I'd like to compliment my setup with rgb tubes. It seems that every product in this category miss something. If I invest in a set of 4 at around a thousand, I'd like to be happy for the years to come with a rock solid product that delivers. Still searching for the golden product that will not break the bank ahah.

    Great video! Very informative. Do you know if the only difference between the TDX and TD of this light is that it’s waterproof and has special effects? Is there a difference in light quality?? Thanks.

      Hey hey Sahar!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting!
      I'm not sure what the additional "X" mark is in their model names, there doesn't seem to be any consistency on which ones have it and don't. In the old versions it seems like its because it has DMX controls. In terms of light quality, they should perform about the same, when I first heard of the company they've always done quite well with their LED flex lights light quality. Hope this helps!

    Awesome thanks for sharing. How would you rate one of these mats Vs a led panel in terms of transportability? I'm still keen to get the neewer upgraded bi-colour panel you featured here recently.

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  4 года назад +1

      Hey hey again Neil!
      You're most welcome! A traditional LED Panel is easier to transport as there are not many pieces to it. With a LED mat footprint isn't that much bigger when rolled into its carrying case. The setup times are different depending on how you want to use the mat. If you want to use it as a traditional panel you will still have to setup the bracket etc. However you do gain the benefit of having a lightweight panel to put up wherever you need.

    • @HumblyNeil
      @HumblyNeil 4 года назад

      @@TLDR_filmmaker Thanks for sharing buddy! I had sort of concluded the same in my head but without having it to compare I could only estimate it. I could imagine the mat would be great in a tight space attached to a wall, but in day to day situations the panel would come up trump in return for money spent.
      I look forward to your future content!

    • @TLDR_filmmaker

      Also take into account the cheaper Version 1 and how much light output you get out of the 100w version compared to the Neewer 660 I reviewed. You will get more output to work with with the Falconeyes, flexibility, and of course the use of a softbox and lantern attachment. If you don't need bi-color and primarily use Daylight for your needs, they do have some daylight only versions around the same size. A lot of options from the Falconeyes camp that you can look into and do a cost analysis to see which one will provide the output you need. Hope this further helps!

    Hey! 🙏 I am torn between the FalconEyes RX-18TDX II and the new Aputure 100x. - Size wise, at the end of the day it seems to me that the FalconEyes with its big control box is not smaller than the Aputure with an integrated control box. Add to it the the new Light Dome or Space Light modifier (lantern) and it doesn't take much more space.
    - If you could buy just one of them for RUclips video and Product photography which one would you get please ? 🤗

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  3 года назад +3

      Hey hey LR!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a qusetion!
      I would personally buy the Aputure 100x for those needs, mainly because it is more powerful and the ability to use more types of modifiers. Panel style lights (Flex is part of this category) require you to have much more light support gear if you are to attempt to craft the light. Panel lights are great for auxiliary and supplement light as they easily fulfill this role. But for your first light, the Aputure 100X is a hard deal to beat. It will become the new Godox Sl60w that has been popular for years.
      That being said, Do you know why you want the 100x and not the 100d? If you don't have a real reason to use the tungsten color than I would advise you to get the 100D instead. You get even more power for light modification, and it's cheaper. I'm saying this because Daylight is mainly what you will be working with for pretty much 95% of what you are planning to use the light for. Tungsten is more for narrative filmmakers who are going to change around lighting design for certain scenes. If you don't know what I mean by exposing for tungsten so that your background daylight is blue for the scene. Then you most likely don't have a use for the bi-color feature.
      Hope this helps!

      @@TLDR_filmmaker I am really grateful that you took some time to reply to me and even more ☺️ Your thoughts were really helpful. Thank you!
      I chose the 100X over the 100D for 3 reasons:
      1- It’s my first continuous light, so I would like the opportunity to learn by experimenting with the color temp for evening sets for example or adding a mood. If I don’t try it by myself I will always regret.
      Also I find that a lot of RUclipsr have this clean cold and almost chirurgical light on their face. It’s not the most pleasing and I want to have the possibility to warm the light a little bit.
      2- Gerald Undone measured a 20% difference in output between the D and X (3500 lux at 1m 5600K) version.
      3- I see a lot of people doing great work and videos with a Godox SL60, so my thinking is 100w/2 (I divided the output by 2 because it’s bicolor) would give me approximately the same output. Therefore I should be fine indoor. I hope so.
      Again thank you so much, I love your work, you have another fan!

      Hey hey Simonstoeckl!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question!
      V1 is cheaper and is more flexible compared to the V2. V2 is not really possible to fold the light into spaces. Only buy the V2 if you plan to be using it in and around water. If you are not using this light around water, there is no reason for you to purchase the V2. In my opinion, V1 is more useful for me.

      Possibly in the future, the one I am most interested in is the ColourLab AI. Automatic Color matching with AI... it looks amazing and will be released soon next month, however its very limited at the moment in its first build. Unfortunately its a subscription based program. grrrrr
      However, once it gets better and I know I have a feature film locked down in the edit. I'll pay that 99 bucks for the month and know I just saved myself 100+hrs of color grading work after I have one shot graded the way I wanted. Hopefully davinci works with AI color matching and grading and release it in their program. That'll probably happen eventually. All good news for us!
