I think it is still the same as what we have in the past, you need to still use elemental scrolls to level up their skills. However, keep in mind that it has the same mechanic as the enchantment of your equipment. It is still random, the main difference between enchantment and pet levelling is that there is no downgrade in pet levels only "same" and "upgrade".
