Don't believe this! I've actually just started to learn cuneiform; well last week. Stopped for the day and decided to watch some MST 3K. and now this films started talking about it!! Also, as an archaeologist, I'm amazed how easy it was to retrieve that stone tablet out of the stratigraphic layer. Just slid right out and dusted it off easliy. Somehow we must have lost these techniques because now we do it the really hard way!!
I possibly could, had it been Sumerian cuneiform; I at least could recognize it as not being Sumerian, to say nothing of it being at least 3x's bigger than a usual clay tablet! The bigger they are, the or likely they are to break; as well as being heavy!
Apparently, Adad's death was studio-mandated. She's a Sumerian character (never mind that the actress playing her is white as a ghost), and pairing her with John Agar's character was too close to portraying an interracial relationship for some of the 1950s producers. That's the Hays Code for you.

The best lineup the show has ever had right here. The Rifftrax boys.
Such a great episode. One of my favorite fabulous funny freakouts. I just love the foreshadowing in this one... If you know what to look for, you can really see Mike latching on to the "down down down" joke before the bots grow tired of the bit.
"I could go on forever about the silence" got me
Can't get annotations to display on the RUclips app but I love the official, free episodes!
Greg Lytmer ...someone not complaining....wow!
As a non american, Thank you for so much for these annotations. I learn something about American Culture everytime I watch this.
America has no culture
hahasimp
If America DOES have any culture, IT'S THIS!!!!!!
We have culture, though it's pretty superficial. :)
This is the BEST of what we have to offer. Enjoy !
Issac Medina yes we do. Its just we have so much nobody notices
Jazz cultural
Rock cultural
Motorist cultural
Internet cultural etc...
Ah yes, the Mole people. Makers of fine authentic Mexican brown sauce!
Took me a moment. Now I want some mole poblano.
This made me laugh harder than I should have, good job!
Thomas Patton I do what I can. At least you guys were able to get the reference.
you'd get more credit if you hadn't ripped that riff off directly from the episode.
One Stop Infotainment Impored from Turkey perhaps? :-)
Mike looks like a young Michael Keaton. Crow: "Asia, well that narrows it down." 😆
Better looking than Keaton
ASIA - "Well, that narrows it down." 😄 "Jack Nicholson's house!!" 😂
"Get out of my chair, Lieutenant Crown Roast" is the funniest line ever and it bothers me that most of my coworkers won't understand the reference.
"Uh, this is unpleasant." "Just pretend it's Adam Sandler." "Uh! Suddenly it's great!"
Re-watching old MST3K videos picks me up... up, up.
Thank you, thank you for re-releasing this on youtube! One of my favorites... And missed it greatly!
This movie is basically Road to El Dorado but bad...
“Crow and Tom Servo!
Tom Servo and Crow!
Mighty and powerful GODS
Mi-mi-mi-mi-mighty and powerful GODS!”
Former Minnesota Vikings running back Robert Smith is a MYSTie!! Awesome cameo!
thanks for the years of laughter and smiles!
Crow's fall from the mile high meringue pie is still one of the best bits they ever did.
Crow often mentions a band from 60-70's just in a passing comment. Tonight is was Uriah Heap and on one he mentioned Wishbone Ash which I haven't heard mentioned in years. Love these shows.
What's the one where he says, "and this is Alan Parsons in his studio "
"Ya buys yer ticket and
ya takes yer chance."
Words to live by fellas.
Words to live by.
Tore myself away from the Foreverathon to enjoy this gem. The 24/7 stream is going great, just wish we could see the host-segments from episodes like this on there.
38:16 "careful, he's outacting you all". That has to be one of the best ones ever! Laughing my head off
"Maybe we climbed right past the summit!" might be my favorite MST3K line
It’s either that or “never look at me!”
Missed Annotation: 37:57 "There IS a place for fun in our lives!" refers to a Twin Cities, MN TV commercial for the Mall of America featuring the jingle, "There's a place for fun in your life... the Mall of America!" In this wide shot of the ruins it looks like the cavernous interior of the MOA itself.
And today, MOA is a ruin.
It is!? I wanted to try the food court my only interest
@@kathyflorcruz552 Yeah but we're not allowed to say why.
@@kathyflorcruz552 Is it? That's amazing. Nothing summarizes 21st century America better than the acres and acres of dead malls and their weed choked parking lots.
@@a.hollins8691 I meant that it's been taken over by 1000s of the "religion of peace" - where just a few months ago a 4 year old white boy was thrown "accidently" from the 4th tier to die. He barely survived. No one in their right mind would go there anymore unless you want to risk being slashed & attacked.
When I first saw this episode I had no idea they were already in season 8. I thought it was a brand new show. But even after seeing all of those other 100+ episodes this one is still probably in my top 30. I love it.
i can not wait for new episodes!!! hurry up Joel!!! it's been WAAAAAAAAAY too long. this should have never gone off the air. NEVER. now that it's being brought back it should never again stop. mst3k now and forever. just imagine these guys with the movies like The Room, Birdemic, and anything Neil Breen has ever made. Ahhhh! I'm so excited! More! New! Yes! Now! Hurry! Ahhhhh!!!!!
August West So how is it, worth a watch?
You realize that these exact three guys riffed both the Room and Birdemic, right? Or have you just not heard of Rifftrax?
Well, when I'm wrong, i'm WRONG. I admit it. Great job on the new episodes, and yes - I've already seen them all. Even SuperPersons can be wrong. Y'all should learn from my example. That's why I'm Super.
When I win the Powerball, I will pay them to do 5000 more episodes of General Hospital. With a handful of Facts of Life and Little House on the Prairie.
August West yeah, but not the same crew, the new ones suck!!!
This was always one of my favourites. This, Space Mutiny, Cave Dwellers, and The Undead.
I love 'Prince of Space' and 'Santa Claus Conquers the Martians'!
They do either the prequel or sequel to Cave Dwellers on Rifftrax. I believe it's called Ator, The Fighting Eagle
Space Mutiny numbah one!
"We need to get down, (there), We need to get Funky"!!! LOL
...can you throw up the parking ticket?
So Crow invented the selfie….awesome
Thank you so uc for posting this! I'm glad you guys are still aound even here, in the much more distant future!
I remember watching this the night it aired for the first time! Amazing that i still remember all the riffs, they're that good!
“Probably shouldn’t have put the world’s oldest record on a cheap card table.”
Lolllllllllolzz
Don't believe this! I've actually just started to learn cuneiform; well last week. Stopped for the day and decided to watch some MST 3K. and now this films started talking about it!!
Also, as an archaeologist, I'm amazed how easy it was to retrieve that stone tablet out of the stratigraphic layer. Just slid right out and dusted it off easliy. Somehow we must have lost these techniques because now we do it the really hard way!!
Can you translate that tablet better than that idiot?
I possibly could, had it been Sumerian cuneiform; I at least could recognize it as not being Sumerian, to say nothing of it being at least 3x's bigger than a usual clay tablet! The bigger they are, the or likely they are to break; as well as being heavy!
The ending to this movie was on a sci-fi "top 10 worst movie endings" list
There is literally no reason they all had to get a bridge dropped on them. Or a pillar, as it were.
@@Dreigonix Yes it went from happy to crappy in one confusing moment.
Good it needs to be!!! No freaking need for that ending😠
Apparently, Adad's death was studio-mandated. She's a Sumerian character (never mind that the actress playing her is white as a ghost), and pairing her with John Agar's character was too close to portraying an interracial relationship for some of the 1950s producers. That's the Hays Code for you.
@@allisonhomiak2336 Noooooooo... Are you shitting me!? It makes sense now that you said it but that is some reasoning.
Let's make the plot include how a white man saves a race of beings different from him even though the ones beating them have more in common with the MC because he's an example of fairness and equality not to mention destroy the elitist world, but under no circumstances can you show a white man walk away with another white woman, sure she's Sumerian but you could call her an albino Sumerian, because that's just _too much._
I mean I sorta get the thinking but it's kind of ass backwards, then again it's not that different from some of the decisions studios and the MPAA/BBFC make today.
54:58 "Contents of Load may have shifted during Death" has got to be one of the Greatest Burns I've ever heard!!
77 dislikes from people going "why are these guys interrupting such a great movie?.."
because they don't know a classic movie when they see 1
They probably didn't enjoy lawgiver daze either
Ahahahaha
It's (Remember IT? What a great movie) not (Isn't not spelled with a K? That's knot a knot!) at (Wait, they had email addresses in the 1950s? Why are they using @?) all (Hey, all rhymes with ball. Balls? Get it?) annoying (Wow, a three syllable word. This guy is a cunning linguist.) to (Did anyone else read JacobTwoTwo and the Hooded Fang?) have (Is that correct grammer? Where's Grammarly when you need it?) constant (How can a 90 minute video be constant? This makes no sense.) interruptions (I cant remember how this sentence started. What was my point again?)
@@robotnoir5299 why are you trying to watch this movie WITHOUT commentary?
"They stumbled into the Hormel meat packing plant."
Ah, but did they see the tail. That horrible tail? (Deep cut for the Rifftrax fans lol)
38:18- Mike: "careful, he's out-acting you all!" **when it shows a stone statue head** LOL!!
I don't remember the episode but Croow was wearing like mile high heels and fell over, was basically the same bit (looooong screm as he slowly fell) if anyone knows what Im talking about and remembers the episode lemm know!!
1012 - Squirm
"gentlemen.." "start your hats..." funniest m-effin thing I have heard in over 72 hours

*shows Egyptian hieroglyphics*
Nah, that tablet is mostly cuneiform.
@@LoneKharnivore Watch the rest of the movie.
In Asia too. The filmmakers really did their homework.
