I wish the plane had the rest of it’s historical loadouts, it should have the ability to carry 3x 500lbs (which should drop individually) or a single 1000lbs bomb. Would also like the mid war modification that upgraded the turret to a twin .30 cal mount.
I've played more than 1000 games in this thing (Name: MetaReplication), so here's everything that you need to know: * Use secondary weapon selection keybind - that way you can switch between 500 lbs and 100 lbs bombs * Select your payload depending on the game situation - will there be groups of tanks? Take 500 lbs. Will they all be spread out across the map? Take 100 lbs. * When you get low and slow, take some time to climb. Go to the side of the battlefield, and put your plane at an appropriate angle. Give it a minute to get altitude back. Here's the defence technique that I use, that nearly always works: * Dodge the enemy's first attack * Begin pulling upwards, using W * Switch to gunner view * Use control scheme keybind to switch to simplified - that way the game won't set your heading back to the default * Fire at the enemy plane, which should be slow and close now for an easy shot * If your defensive machine gun salvo fails, then switch back to mouse aim control scheme, and repeat - if they broke off, turn after them and fifty cal them to death.
shouldn't W be pushing downwards? then again, i'm pretty sure default keybind is W and S for throttle also no need for changing control mode, there's a toggle level flight for gunner/bombing cam that can be turned off so the plane stops leveling out
@@piscessoedroen No, it's still necessary to change control mode, because even after you disable that option, it will put you back to the trajectory you pointed it to in mouse aim. For W, yeah that's true. I changed it to W for elevator up and I forgot others use something different.
@@MetaReplication that mouse aim problem, is fixed by holding W or S while you're free-looking to where you cannot see your mouse aim (you can look to your mouse after this). Until you stop free-looking the mouse will continue to follow your plane's nose After several uses you will be able to do it quickly in a second as if you're an mlg player doing quickswaps
when i started the game i gravitated towards bombers and dive bombers, so this was pretty much my first unlocked plane other than the sb2u. it wasn't until after a while that i started with fighters. TBf Avenger and B-25 have some of my highest fighter kill stats of all planes so that's how much i used bombers. but yeah its a pretty good multirole when i used it i was a noob and didn't know how to dive bomb so i only strategic bombed with the sight but it was still good.
It doesn't have the ability to take large bombs for groups of tanks, doesn't have the low stall speed of the TBD that lets you stall on top of tankd to strafe them, and its armament can't penetrate tanks top-down like a .50 cal. But it does have great guns for air-to-air and open-tops, and better defensive armament.
I've flown this in RB ground, and it can be very effective, especially for 'not very skilled' pilots...like me. It's a very forgiving ride. Just try and not get massively uptiered like IRL and you'll be fine.
@@Parkourboy86 Agreed. Another thing to consider is, the reason the TBDs were in the situation they saw at Midway was less about being old, and more about being unlucky when the attack organization of the strike fell apart. The TBDs should have attacked with fighter support, but also in conjunction with the SBDs diving, and the other carrier's planes attacking at the same time, from different directions. The enemy CAP should have been split and disorganized by having to deal with multiple threats from multiple angles and altitudes at the same time. The carriers should not have been able to dodge torpedoes coming in from multiple angles. The USN was playing catchup with the Japanese tactically/doctrinally. It was more teething pain from operating the carriers in groups, when pre-war planning saw the carriers operating independently. The Avengers also saw combat at Midway. They were also slaughtered.
Please make a video about the He-112 A-0, the poor man's A-10 Warthog. It has a single 20mm gun with rounds that can pierce 37mm of armor, the gun is the same found in the Pz.IIs, it also doesn't have WEP, but it is a fun plane.
I used this plane with torpedos multiple times, and I have to say, don't do it unless you have researched the improved torpedos, the first one has to be launched at very low altitudes and slow speed, the torpedo itself is very slow and damage is negligible, only crippled ships will have a chance of sinking, even destroyers can quickly fix the damage and drain the water
can we get a video on what your config is. my war thunder controls keep getting reset. and having to bind them everytime is annoying. also so many options in this game.
In terms of low tier american bomebrs, personally I prefer SB2Us and/or SBD-3. I never knew that TBD-1 has a 12.7mm, I thought it had a 7.62mm instead.
please play the Ki-43 III otsu in the japanese tree. It's a helicopter or i will say a Toy rc plane. Can bring 2 250 bomb and 2 20mm Ho-5 sadly 300 rounds only.

I guess that’s too much for that br. Maybe add it as a later variant in the tech tree at a higher br. Not that much higher, but definitely higher.
@@PotatoCrispGaming a low tier bomber compared to a low tier strike craft, excellent comparison.
@@greatlegacyoftanks5511 What comparison did he make? The BB-1?
@@MetaReplication most likely the SBM something (the first Russian bomber)
Curious that this plane is good when it fight planes of its era and not 1942 aircraft
Discovered this Plane a few weeks ago. Alot of fun and easy to hit groundtargets.
Small dive bombers always be easy to drop bomb. They can aim and pull better than strike fighter.
For bit higher BRs, I recommend P-40. You already did a video on it, so people should be aware of its Strengths
Imho P-40 is good if you going to hunt enemy CAS first before you drop bomb later on. Pick SBD if you want to do the opposite.

Always happy to see these kinds of tech tree reviews that are helpful to new players. Great video as usual!
2:34 dont you just feel the urge to pass below that elevated walkway
You didn't mention air Arcade where all soft targets come in large soft formations. I had a ridiculous amount of ground kills in this
watching this channel makes me feel the joy of unlocking a new tank for the first time in war thunder like it was the first day i played
Would we be able to see a video on the RBT-5? Having 420mm rockets at 1.3 is pretty insane, once you get the hang of them…

Hey man. I hope you’re doing okay. It'll be good in future if you make a video on M18/similar variant vehicles
Old intro is back! I love this one!
Love your videos, will have to use this plane to grind the bomber tree
Can you please review the 2C.
Loving the vids. Keep up the great work
you need to try the bb1 soviet bomber, its the best at low tier and has a powerful lineup

I remember early on in War Thunder I unlocked the IL-4 and used a torpedo to destroy a tank this was way before ground battles were in the game
Not sure if it’s just me but I see people use this plane a lot in Air AB. Even in higher BR matches.
Hi, I have been a subscriber for a while now and have figured you like CAS in GRB. Please try the Squadron ME 262. Thank you!
