    Thanks Jason. This is like a tutorial that I really needed to see. I have some rocks that I want to polish but not necessarily tumble into utter smoothness. Your exceptional results inspire me to see what I can start this weekend. Thank you for the video and I will be watching again soon.

      Glad it was helpful! The whole tumble from start to finish only took about a week.

    Very nice. I like the "natural look". I have a Lot-O-Tumbler coming next week and nearly 10 pounds of agates to process this winter Thank you for the tips.

    They turned very nicely! I really like the idea of leaving them in their more natural state. Great experiment! I really need to get a vibratory tumbler.

    I agree that was my favorite too, followed closely by the bay of fundy agates. Great job on the polish, mirror shine. Keep the goodness coming. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

    Fantastic video and some of the most beautiful I guess I’ve seen. That was very cool that you were that you skipped the first stage and saved yourself some time. Because looking at that rocks it doesn’t appear that you skip anything. Thanks for sharing. Be safe!

    Jason, good call on saving the best for last. I love tiger-eye, but those BoF agates at the end are the best in this bunch!

      You should. I absolutely love my lot o! I've gotten some amazing results with a combination of a cabbing machine and a vibe tumbler. It's a sweet piece of lapidary equipment!
      Love the video!

    Man those rocks were awesome! I like the semi natural look on one side, pretty Impressed with a shine on them, It looks to me like you may get a better shine on the vibratory machine versus the rotary?? Thanks!

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  3 года назад +1

      Glad you like them! In my experience the shine is better with the vibratory. But I was very impatient when tumbling strictly with a rotary tumbler. I would take short cuts and as a result I probably didn;t get the shine I could have. If you watch Michigan Rocks or Marlaina Atkins you can see the unbelievable mirror shine they get with the rotary tumbler. So I think both are probably equally as good.

    They are all great, but that piece at 11:50 is absolutely fascinating. It's like black lightning on a stormy night. Have you ever thought about trying a sonic cleaner to get the grit out of pits and cracks and such? I've seen what they do for machine parts and other stuff with wedged in crud and the results are great. There's cheap ones for like 25 bucks that might be worth buying just for a trial before committing to a couple hundred dollar sturdy machine. Great stuff as always, thanks. Oh, you forgot to link that video at the beginning.

    Thank you for showing all these beauties. Ths porcelain agate is mind blowing! It would be super cool if you make some detailed instructional video on how to use Lot-O vibratory tumbler, what to attach it to, how to fill it up and all stages etc. I recently purchased this tumbler and struggling to find any good tutorial on youtube. I watch Rob from Michigan rocks, but he seems not have a vibratory tumbler or at least video on it. You showed some steps earlier (I watch you too from very beginning:) ) but there are still lots of questions at least I have:)

      Hi there,
      I will be doing more tutorial style videos this year and I'll be sure to include one on the Lot-o and my experience using it. In the meantime Rob (Michigan Rocks) does have several tutorial videos on the lot-o. I have referenced them myself over the years. He has hundreds of vids so you might need to scroll through his catalog in a more detail. Thanks for watching!!

    Wow and thank you for sharing! I am getting ready to tumble some tiger's eye I picked up at a show. And the flame 🔥 agate is definitely my favorite, but is is sad to see how cracked it gets. Always love your videos.

    Holy jeebus those are freekin AWESOME! You are the king of rock polishing!!! Amazing job on those. Not sure which is my favorite. Tigers eye or pet wood.... or that Scotts Bay one. Bay of Fundys and LSA are always spectacular too. Once again, amazing job! I like how you had the lot o running, because I've been curious how loud it is as my lady won't have it if its too loud. I also really like how you explain everything. Great video, Jason! Rock on 😁🤘

    * You couldn't have planned the outcome better. most of the rocks were great on all sides. Some were small enough for wire wrap or pendant jewelry. Congrats on a successful experiment..

    for many of the specimens, i think that the back side is prettier than the flat side

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  3 года назад

      The back side shined up better for sure. I noticed that too.

    Your "polish" ran a little! Especially noticeable on the flat side. Nice try tho.

    To get the grit off you can use a pressure washer if you have one or get a hand held steam cleaner on ebay for about 30 doll hairs....
    be well and be safe.......

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  3 года назад

      I like the steam cleaner idea!

      @Rockhounding Life. It's called a textile cleaner. They are not too bad. I was going to mention that and an air compressor.
      MRM puts a mean shine on her rocks. She is very detail oriented to put it mildly. Many ways to shine the skin of an agate. As they say.
